Well we had 2 lovely summers there...weather good, food good, drink good (and cheap), most people spoke English but appreciate it if you try to speak French!

Found the name of one of the campsites we stayed in France - Le Logis du Breuil, St-Augustin-Sur-Mer. Lovely site, nice people, had to cycle or drive to beach though, not within walking distance, but lovely sandy beaches fairly close by.
