Very risky as well, Those new forest ponies can do a lot of damage to a person!

Roundhill site near Brockenhurst in the New Forest. Went there in April.

Nice spacious site, so long as you don't have an aversion to ponies or cows.

The only downer is there are washing blocks but no showers. The nearest pub's about a mile away.

Hi Del Boy  I'll call you to catch up at some point this week and give you a couple of recommendations. Unfortunately I went last weekend and the weather was a little inclement. I had to get up twice in the night to repeg the tent in the pissing rain and gales!

Found the name of one of the campsites we stayed in France -
Le Logis du Breuil, St-Augustin-Sur-Mer. Lovely site, nice people, had to cycle or drive to beach though, not within walking distance, but lovely sandy beaches fairly close by.
