If stats are correct on BBC Sport website then we had 13 shots in an away game so it looks like, as we have all known, WE NEED A STRIKER who can put the ball in the net. This window will be crucial to whether we stay up or go down.
The problem is if CH decides to do what he has with Izquierdo and wait to see if he can cope with the rigours of the premiership then the new striker will not get regular game time. He does not have that luxury. I feel sorry for Izquierdo as he has had little football when March and Knockheart...
The problem is. If we sign the best striker in the world, and we play the same tactics that we play now, they will still struggle to score. Possibly a player with more pace will have a better chance of scoring, but it will be interesting to see if CH changes tactics to support a goal scoring...
Agree Neither Solly or AK are pulling up trees. Izquierdo needs game time and is certainly as capable as the other two. Start him against Chelsea and give him at least the 70 minutes that others are given when starting. If he plays well against a top team then give him more game time. CH sees...
Ryan 7 Maybe one late blip today but consistent generally. Number 1 for sure
Bruno 7 Usual sound performance from the skipper
Suttner 8 Best performance in the stripes so far. Should start every game for me. Bong is a very useful back up.
Dunk 8 Another polished performance.
Goldson 9 Big...
Whilst he did improve in the second half, he got behind their defence once and was then tackled before he got a shot away. My worry is, whether up to speed or not, he is just too slow for the premiership. His lack of pace enabled the defender to get back and make the tackle. Chances are slim in...
Felt sorry for him really. Little time to impress and nobody looked to pass to him. As has been said once the second goal went in the controlled play went out the window. Still. Up until they equalised I thought we controlled the game and the game plan worked. We need a bit of luck. Against...
Exactly this. Neither goal came from Suttners mistakes. The first was a good bit of skill by Ibe and the second was Hemed and Knockhaert not making a tackle on Ibe, To say Suttner is poor is, as you say, making him the scapegoat.
No problem with Hemed or Murray playing up front. My concern was getting a striker in with pace to compliment them. More worried about Baldock who is injury prone virtually leaving us down to two strikers coming to the end of their careers. Both Hemed and Murray are good players but very...
Yes If this comes off I will give myself a talking too because it is a good signing. Still feel that this was a very late bid for this particular player as the club could see the wheels coming off. I am sure Paul Barber's connections helped them out of a hole.
Andy Naylor about to say "I am going home understand nothing more happening" What a disappointment. Club have looked poor in this window and shown up by a lot of championship clubs who have got deals over the line. In fact a lot of championship clubs have better squads than we have. Go down this...
Players must be livid the club have not given them a chance of competing if they don't sign a striker. This could really knock team spirit. Let's hope not. You have to feel for CH. His job should be safe whatever happens. Don't blame the manager if we are miles adrift at Christmas.
Exactly this. Why leave it so late. Must be favourites to go down if we sign no-one. Strikers win games. It is so late now we must be to number 20 on the list. Reckon it will now be Ashley Barnes at 10.55pm
Looking more and more like we won't be signing a striker and if it is left late one of poor quality. If this happens I don't fancy our chances of getting enough points to stay up. At present we have not one striker of premiership quality that will get the goals to avoid relegation. Hoping that...
