Should we not be BOYCOTTING MK Dons?

I think 'giving up' is precisely what people like Winkelman etc bank on. Endure the protests and derision until alot of people can't be arsed anymore and then you're home. Which is why i never let go of ANYTHING. I like being angry, basically. But as i said above, i shall endeavour to find a...

    Pub help needed

I've tried numerous times to find a pub in Brighton showing Ireland matches, or GAA. No chance, basically. I'd heard that there might be a option in Crawley, but its too far for me so i didn't investigate further. I think tonight will be another session on Justintv.com or another live-internet...

Should we not be BOYCOTTING MK Dons?

I think it IS still worth protesting. They should never be allowed to forget what 'they' did and that the rest of football hates them. However i don't think anyone would begrudge us finding an alternative way of protesting on Saturday. Our team desperately needs as much support as possible for...

    Craig Davies

He's nowhere near first choice for Wales, and isn't even in the squad for the current qualifiers, so you're talking bollocks there, frankly.

:clap:Excellent stuff Edna. My rage hasn't dimmed. Punching his face wouldn't sort it though; i'd have to go way more extreme.

    Relegation

I agree that the atmosphere at Withdean has obviously been awful in the main, and that we as fans need to take some responsibility. HOWEVER its not as if our away record is THAT good anyway. Home: 4 wins, 5 draws, 10 defeats; Away: 4 wins, 6 draws, 8 defeats. So i'm not sure that comparing...

St Patricks Day Who Is Getting Right on It

I suppose the problem is that there isn't a national dress or specific piece of clothing that you can wear on St Patrick's Day, apart from the horrendous leprechaun garb that gets dished out. So yes, if you wear that then you look like a complete twat. Even if you are Irish. But standing there...

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

Heheh, actually no! I see where you're coming from though. Most people sheepishly just admitted that they didn't know.

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

Err, the opposite actually, they're precisely as intelligent and educated as i thought. I thought most people would not recognise the flag and so far I've seen nothing to change my mind.

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

Aaaaaaaaaaanyway, just want to drag us back to the cross of St Patrick discussion, innocently started by Lord Bracknell a few hours ago. I just did a quick survey of the 8 other people in my office, aged between 29 - 50, all intelligent and educated - only ONE of them knew what flag it was.

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

Ok sure. And you might be right about the recognition of the flag, and who might be more likely to recognise it. I've got no real opinion on that. My opinion on the flag of St Patrick is that most english or english of irish descent people my age (around 30) wouldn't recognise it. Anyway...

again, fair enough,. Didnt realise your computer was fecked. My comment about you 'not recognising it' wasn't a dig.

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

Calm down mate, we've already had one person on here not recognise it (Chicken Run). And whats your point about the right-wingers recognising it before the groovy gang?

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

Heheh, you old stirrer you. I suspect its because most people wouldn't recognise the flag! Its a good point though, there are plenty of people, particularly in/from Northern Ireland, who would 'celebrate' St Patrick's Day but have no association with the tricolour.

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

Yep fair enough. For the record i'm suprised the Council are flying the tricolour. I mean, Brighton doesn't exactly have a large Irish community compared to other english towns/cities (as far as i know), and i can't imagine that any Brighton Irish would be offended by it not being flown either...

Irish Tri Colour at Brighton Council offices

EVERY SINGLE YEAR there is a binfest on NSC about St Patrick's Day. I've been posting on here for 5 years and reading it for longer. In all that time i bet most of the people on here who moan have done precisely nothing to make St George's Day a better 'celebration' than it currently is. Quit...

    Horne & Corden

I loved the first two series of Gavin & Stacey, but was very disappointed with the Christmas 'Special'. I didn't see the sketch show (attempting to drown sorrows in The Station at the time) but my missus reckoned it was lame. Seems most agree.
