Yep, first Albion game 8th April 1972, beat Wrexham 3-2 at the Goldstone and went on to finish runners up to Aston Villa and got promoted to the 2nd Division. Programme cost 5p!!!

My trip home is slightly different, but I left the stadium with my son and his mate about 10 minutes after the match had finished. Walked up to Wembley Park tube station, was on a tube heading north to Stanmore by 7.40ish, in the car for 8.00, and home in Liverpool by 11.00pm.
