I know I spent most of last night looking through scrap books of newspapaer cuttings I put together wnen I was 12 or 13. And loads of other newspapers I've kept over the last 30 years or so. Some great memories!
Not sure if it's readable, but this was an article in the Argus, about 1977 regarding plans to improve the Goldstone.
If anyone wants a copy of it, PM with your address, and I'll photocopy it and post it to you.
I've found some cuttings from the Argus from 1977, detailing plans to improve the Goldsone, with drawings of the West Stand and East Terrace. I'll scan them and try and post them on here tomorrow,......if anyone's interested!!!!
I've got the copies of the Argus with all the detail somewhere, I seem to remember it made the front pages, although that might have been the Goldstone redevelopment plans. I'll try and find them when I'm home tonight.
Like two great heavyweights, Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba have been going at it toe-to-toe for a what seems like an age, but their titanic battle to be crowned the Premier League's most amusing hate figure shows no sign of a let-up. Last week, Ronaldo got in a tremendous body shot with...
Anyone know how far Huddersfield station is away from the ground, and how long it would take to walk after the game?
Just looking at train times to get home after the match.
Thanks
Yep I was there, stood right at the back under the clock.
Probably the best experience following the Albion. I still watch the video highlight's when feeling depressed.
Oh for those days again!
One of the best days in Albions history, we all travelled to Anfield that day never believing we'd actually win.
Anyone else go to Sherrys (???) a few weeks later to watch it repayed on a big screen?
Your memory is good BH, the Pyramids would be heaven for OC. When were you last up here? The place is worse than when I first moved up here (1994), I hate having to go there, and give it a wide berth unless I really have to. The Birkenhead Market, really is the pits. As for going out for a...
Has had his contract with Tranmere terminated, after just 6 appearances for Tranmere. Ronnie Moore just comneted it would was in the interests of both parties.
Just reiterates what we thought, total arse!
Not a friend or relative, but have listened to him for over 14 years, and I'll remember your comments when your old man dies, a bloke I've never heard of or met.
Have some f***ing respect.
Phil Easton, died om Monday aged 59.
Worked on local radio, City FM, for over 30 years and lived and breathed Liverpool. Absolute gentleman and a legend in these parts.
RIP
The 1984 match v Liverpool at the Goldstone was indeed live on ITV on a Sunday at the end of January, and I have it on VHS.
The 1991 match at Anfield was also available on video minus commentary from the club.
Marvelous memeories:clap2:
I also have the semi final at Highbury on VHS and DVD if...
Wouldn't have said the best pub, and not quite the closest (that's the Prenton), but OK.
Best pub is my local "The Swan" but that's about a 30 to 40 minute walk away. OK if you're driving though, just off Junc 3 M53 along Woodchurch Road (A552)
