I have one the same as that!!!
Memories.........
Wilkins free kick. Millwall in the North Stand, and the interview with Wilkins after the play-off final at Wembley, when he was in tears and had forgotten he'd scored!
April 1972, home to Wrexham, won 3-2.
Sat in the south stand with my dad. I remember he brought me some small black plastic football boots, tied together with white cotton or elastic. I think they were meant to hang on the rear view mirror in the car. If so, not quite sure why he brought them...
Rung the sky number 08442411411, and said I'd seen a flyer offering a 2 month free trial. The lady I spoke to said records showed nothing had been sent out to me, although there was the offer available. This is why she could I have to pay for it and she will apply a credit to my account for the £18.
All sorted. Although I hadn't received the flyer, they accepted the offer was available, so they've given me an £18 credit on my account. Happy days!
Diary note to canel on 12th December!!
The Mrs has been on the phone, tickets arrived in the post this morning, 14 days after ordering them. All's well that end's well.
Let's hope for a cracking game and the right result:albion1:
I also delivered his paper (well the Evening Argus) when he lived opposite Hove Park, probably about 1980/81. I seem to remember he bollocked me once for being late with his paper!!
I have a question.
Living in the North West I have not been able to convince my wife to let me have a season ticket, but with the new stadium coming along, I have.
I have read that current season ticket holderrs will be able to buy up to 4 seats. I am a Blue member, probably one of not very...
ALthough I hate to admit it I'm made up for Scott Wootton. He was at Tranmere as a kid, went to Liverpool acadamy and then to Man Utd, where he's been doing well in the reserves.
Yesterday was his first senior appearance, he had a pretty good game, and capped it by scoring.
As has been said...
It's walking distant from home, so I've got no excuse. Got at least one Tranmere fan coming in with us. Be gentle with him when the our third goal hits the back of the net!
There are 2 pubs next to the gound, The Mersey Clipper, The Prenton Arms, neither particularly great. I'll be in the Halfway House, which is on the corner of Storeton Rd and Woodchurch Rd, about 5 minutes walk from the ground.
Walk straight up Woodchurch Lane (opposite The Mersey Clipper) and...
I found an old casstte with a recording off the radio of second half commentary of the Newcastle promotion game "and that is the sound of Brighton & Hove Albion in the First Division".
Along with this casstte was one with the whole commentary of the 1983 Liverpool FA Cup victory.
Happt...
3rd September 1983, the day Chelsea took over the Goldstone, and the police got a battering on the pitch at the end of the game.
And Chris Hutchings was arrested for inciting a riot!
Just recieved a copy of the Sky Sports magazine in the post and the great Geff Stelling has a 2 page stat's section.
I think he's got one bit wrong or just failed to mention Brighton!
10 of England's "yo-yo" clubs.
Birmingham are top with 23 promotions and relegations since 1894. 10th are...
