That's a very good point too. The more I think about it the more gaining promotion this year could unleash the power of the Albion for a decent length era.
That's a top post. At least, I agree with every word. The Albion and Bennett should both benefit from this decision. If he carries on as he is he may well have better options than Norwich (who I like) come the summer. Hopefully, we will be in old Div 2 and he'll stay anyway as we are on the up.
That's okay, thanks anyway. I had not realised that we had worn a white kit in 70/71 too. Perhaps the two are linked? I am intrigued now. Tim Carder in Seagulls! notes that the club wore white shirts in 74/75 for reasons best known to themselves, while he does not comment on the white kit in...
Birmingham City at the Goldstone in 85 or 86 I think old Div 2. In a strong brummie accent a rather portly City fan shouted at the rather portly defender of theirs: Billy Wright! You're like a bloody great big beached Whale.
Can't stand Crawley. I was at the 5-0 shellacking of Crawley in 92. They'd been so full of it beforehand and it remains one of my most satisfactory Albion cup games.
I'd rather play a top premier league club.
Would it be possible for the club to bring out a six of the best dvd or suchlike? For example, MOTD games including the Villa one in 72, York in 76, Sunderland in 78 or 79, the win at Forest to end their unbeaten home record etc etc.
I reckon that'd be hugely popular and a good seller for...
very down to earth and humble man. Improved enormously as a player from his Southend days and was well worth his few England caps by the end. Has served an apprenticeship at leicester and good luck, though not too much, to him.
Excellent atmosphere, the repertoire really was amazing. FCUM are railing against what many of us dislike about modern top flight football; I salute and support them. We did a very professional job as Gus has said and this may well prove to have been a timely game after recent (relative) wobbles...
Good presenter, but not very knowledgeable about football in my opinion. No doubt a smashing fella.
Glendenning, can be funny, but again you feel he has come late to football.
