    The Regent Ballroom

Oh dear...it must be true that if you can remember the 60s, you couldn't have been there?!?! Where was the 101 club? I seem to recall it was in Queens Road or West Street. Incidentally, go to mybrightonandhove?org.uk and go to Places. There's a Big Apple thread.

    Ankergren had too many chances?

You can sense the crowd getting tense every time the ball is in our penalty area. I suspect the same feeling affects our defence! I suspect there is a lack of confidence, due to his total lack of command of his area, lapses in positional judgement, flapping/ misguided punching, etc, etc. His...

How the M25 nearly killed my dream...

My Saturday was a total disaster...we left North london at 11.00am, hit the start of the tail back at Junction 9 at just gone 12.00, and exited the M25 at Junction 8 at 6.15pm!!! It therefore took us over 6 hours to go from Junction 9 to 8. I too don`t underdstand why traffic wasn`t diverted at...

Rare documentary made in Brighton in 1968

Fef: Yes indeed, I do remeber Bungle. He was invariably wearing a very battered hat, which I ended up being the proud possessor of!

    Das Reich info please

Das reich :mad:I would like to think that the messages he posts damn him more than anything we can collectively post. He regularly and consistently reveals himself to be intellectually and morally challenged. My only sadness is that we appear to support the same team.

    Greatest band ever?

While Lennon and McCartney were clearly the best songwriters of the past 40 plus years, in terms of best group, there is only one contender...The Byrds! Pioneered folk rock, popularising Dylan in the process; within 18 months leapt a million miles musically, pioneering what was then termed Acid...

Completely RANDOM things about Brighton & Hove...

The fantastic Ghost Train and the House Of Hades, (later the Nutt House!), both on the Palace Pier, and both sadly removed by the Nobel Organisation. The boating lake on the seafront near the west Pier. The games room, with Bar Billiards etc, in the Bath Arms. The Kingfisher cafe opposite...

Completely RANDOM things about Brighton & Hove...

The Taj Mahal in Duke Street,...one of the first Indian restaurants in B & H, flock wallpaper and all. I think they got fined/ closed down after some strange meat was found in their fridge!

Completely RANDOM things about Brighton & Hove...

Anyone remember the Starlight Rooms at the bottom of Montpelier Road, in the late 60s? Tiny stage to your right as you went in, with a 3 or 4 piece band playing Atlantic/ Stax covers. Aaaarrrggghh...I`m getting old!

Antone else refused entry to teh Sportsman on Saturday

They Did You A Favour As I`ve previously posted, the food, which used to be at least vaguely acceptable, has become truly dreadful. In fact, it`s even worse than the service. You can tell whoever runs the place doesn`t really care, an attitude that is reflected by the staff in general, and the...

Does the sportsman do food on a night?

Yes, but the standard has gone downhill quicker than Leeds United`s season. To be avoided at all costs...I`d rather have the cholest fest food inside the ground...and that`s saying something!!!

Reasons why Wilkins should be in the dugout NOT the stand

As I posted on another thread, it makes no difference where he sits, when his sole attacking option seems to be long speculative balls aimed loosely in the direction of Savage. He could even do that sitting at home. Now, THERE`S a thought...

    Forster.................

I don`t see how anyone can evaluate Forster, when our sole attacking strategy...certainly in the first half...seemed to be to send speculative long balls aimed vaguely at Savage. It`s pretty irrelevant where Wilkins sits, or how many phone calls he makes when he deploys this one trick pony approach.
