errrr I think you will find the problem is Bridcutt disappearing from games...........

Dickers's fine but he is a holding midfielder (like Tony Grealsih) who should be playing just in front of the defence. Not his job to be the heartbeat of the side. bridcutt on thoeother hand shoudl be the heart beat. bridcutt should be doing what bennett did last season , surging through from midfield and supporting the strikers- except for some reason that I don't understand, he doesn't
Wow. Just wow. So, so, so wrong. Bridcutt is the absolute epitomy of a holding player. And i haven't seen a better one in this league yet. He is beyond criticism. Dicker is a central midfielder, pure and simple. His poor start to the season has nothing to do with Bridcutt and lots to do with the fact he is too slow of both feet and mind at this level.

We do need another keeper to put pressure on Ankergren. His performances have slipped and the more he is put under pressure, the more he flaps. Brezovan and Poke are both diabolical, hopefully we can loan them out. This is getting urgent now.

Disagree. First goal he was simply wrong footed - no complaints. Second, he did not re-adjust quick enough and having got both hands on it, should have had enough to get it away. Third goal, his dive is flat and he does not take off.

His handling is average, but to be fair keepers are encouraged to push and punch rather than catch. Doesn't command his box. He is not agile (see second goal). His dives are flat, does not take off (see third goal), his decision making is poor (see Leeds), he is a nightmare with his angles (see Liverpool first, Murray's first half chance last evening - how much of the goal did he have to aim at?!)

Despite the above (apologies if it sounds like a rant), he is ok as a keeper, but I think we need something better than ok at this level.

Good point, generally his distribution is relatively sound.

Absolutely this. First he was wrong footed but I felt the ball was moving so slowly he could have recovered. 2nd he got two hands on twice but could only flap the ball away. 3rd no compaints.

Dicker: We let the fans down
9:00am Wednesday 28th September 2011

By Brian Owen

Gary Dicker admits Albion let their bosses and supporters down last night.

The Irish midfielder was key to the Seagulls’ super start against old foes Crystal Palace – but they caved in after the break.

You can sense the crowd getting tense every time the ball is in our penalty area. I suspect the same feeling affects our defence! I suspect there is a lack of confidence, due to his total lack of command of his area, lapses in positional judgement, flapping/ misguided punching, etc, etc. His reflex saves, and most of his distribution are good, but don`t, IMHO, begin to compensate for the negatives.

Gus should have got a good keeper in during the summer.I,for one,am surprised it wasn't a top priority.
Solid defence first and then build up the rest!
