A short run with the local running club for me then its eat as much as I can time! Just the stress of Birmingham and home and QPR away on...

Brighton Marathon course 146m too short

Sorry but thats Rubbish. You get 10 miles races such as the Great South Run. I have run worthing half marathon and it was 13.1 miles last year! Just over 6 miles is called a 10k!! Some local village runs will not be 100% accurate but the big events will be pretty close (should be spot on)...

Brighton half marathon confirmed as 146 meters short for the last THREE years. Statement from Brighton Half Marathon Dear runner, Earlier this month we were contacted by UK Athletics following concerns about the length of this year’s course and the course in 2015 and 2016. Over the past...

    Germany away blog

The flight and train were both late - verified before alcohol consumption reached saturation point! The trains were screwed up all day, Dusseldorf airport station is undergoing redevelopment so not sure if that was the reason.

So on the 19th March I ran the Limassol marathon (marathon number 5). It was a glorious sunny day with a 7am start time due to the warm weather. They put on free buses along the seafront to get everyone to the start line, and our hotel kindly opened up the breakfast room at 5am so you get...

I found VLM at stages quite claustrophobic, when I was basically dead on my feet at 18 miles as I hit the wall I had to run in the middle of the road as it felt like people where screaming in my face. That was the first team I felt the kick of a power gel, it is how I imagine it feels for...

With the Limassol marathon next Sunday I had a more relaxing weekend. Spin class Saturday morning and then a 10 miler on Sunday at just over my planned marathon pace. 10.1 miles @ 9.50 on the worth way. The route was very busy with runners, you can tell marathon season is about to start! I...

Nice one, I did it a couple of years ago and remember the wind being savage around the marina then. Also that last bit when you have to run past the finish for a final double back is a bit of a bugger isn't it?! Yep you can see the finish line but have to keep going along the road before going...

I get confused by nicknames on here compared to real names, but spoke to Ben before the Eastbourne half (Is he Mr Banana??). It was a tough run, with that dreaded hill between 3-4 miles and the wind at stage was brutal. In your face first 3 miles and around Soverign Harbour it nearly blew me...

A new PB at Brighton HM yesterday - 1.53.18 (was 1.58.11). Loved the day, even the drizzle and the wind up by the Marina. Fab support considering the weather, I would not have fancied standing around too long to watch! Felt really good yesterday, didn't enjoy mile 8, but after that got a...

I am IN for Sunday. Quite looking forward to it. Did HM distance on Sunday in 2.08 running from Ardingly College to Uckfield on a fairly hilly route. Will start off next to the 2 hour pacers and hope to push on for 1.57/1.58 (want a PB so need under 1.58.11). I dont mind if it rains on...

    Russia's Hooligan Army.

I am undecided on the WC in Russia, if we get a game in St Petersburg I will go, but all groups have a game in Moscow and I will not be doing that one, really really did not enjoy the place on match day. As others have said they are in a different league. Moscow away we got attacked in red...

Sunday I did my first (and probably only!) 20 mile training run in just under 3 1/2 hours. Did it with my marathon training buddy and have to say it made the time whizz by! The fist 10 miles were gone in a flash, along the Worth Way and then Forest Way and then back. Usually hit the wall...
