    [Politics] The General Election Thread

What you have written doesn't make a great deal of sense, but for the record any type of mob rule is not acceptable and goes against british values of tolerance.

    [Politics] The General Election Thread

For the second time - in this case it was a left wing mob and scenes of protestors trying to disrupt only serve to hinder their own cause. Had it been a nutjob, as you put it, I would have said exactly the same irrespective of their cause, which is why I wrote in general terms. How many more...

    [Politics] The General Election Thread

You surely can't be that naïve; are you? You have no idea of the allegiances of those -did you read the banner? And as for your last question; did that really strike you as sensible?

    [Politics] The General Election Thread

Don't be so stupid. Any sort of mob is unacceptable. In this case it is quite clear where the sympathies of the mob are; mob rule is not good. By the way, could you really imagine a Corbyn meeting totally disrupted by a Tory mob?!

    [Politics] The General Election Thread

Had you bothered to properly read what I wrote instead of infantile questions such as are you for real, you would have noticed that I clearly wrote that "if you don't like something or someone" -in this case, it was against the PM, hence my comment about what life will be like when the mob is...

    [Politics] The General Election Thread

I do disapprove of heckling and generally turning up to be disruptive - if you don't like something or someone, then either go to listen to what they have to say or stay away. A left wing mob forcing the PM to cancel events can only play into the hands of the Tories, who will gleefully point...

[/B] Yes, that may well be true. But then Chavez didn't intentionally try to bankrupt Venezuala, did he? It is an inevitable consequence of wanting to spend, spend and spend.

    [Politics] The General Election Thread

From my time in Germany I would periodically meet Danish folk, many of whom would say things like -Denmark is great if you are old and/or ill. You are quite right -if we want better health care, then it has to be paid for, and would involve a great deal more income tax being paid. The problem is...

[News] 30 years ago, today, this was happening in Berlin

They were aware of the aura surrounding the word "democratic" and hoped that it would attract good publicity, and I dare say that some of the useful idiots in the west believed it -or wanted to believe it, despite all evidence to the contrary. I visited the old East Germany in the spring of...

But JC didn't say that -he talked of their promises and manifesto commitments -you have just conveniently chosen to fuse both.

    [Politics] Society

[/B] Yes, this all seems very genuine, but in my experience there is a vast difference between those who say in public that they would be willing to be taxed more, and the reality when it comes down to losing money. Unless human nature has changed drastically these last few years, I would...

With your first predictable and simplistic contribution, that was exactly what you were trying to do - in total contrast to the OP whose aims seem to be far more altruistic.

[Albion] Last Season after 11 games

[/B] But who has said that? I certainly haven't! Read again the exchange! I said that you were talking about last year but it is only relevant to say that we were happy in the first half - I was thus partly agreeing with you! And then you come up with that arrogant bit in your first sentence...

[Albion] Last Season after 11 games

[/B] Fair comment -neither would presumably have been ready, but of course there is always the nagging doubt that CH might regardless have preferred caution to risking speedy attacking players.

[Travel] If all trains towards Brighton from St Leonard’s Warrior Square were cancelled...

Yes, as stated, this is the better route, but what I have suggested is then the next best option, though both are not as direct as one would ideally have wanted. Blame beeching -years ago you could have gone to TW via lewes!

[Travel] If all trains towards Brighton from St Leonard’s Warrior Square were cancelled...

If you can phone him, then he should get on a train going towards London, get off at Tonbridge -2 stations down the line - and then as I said. Train to redhill, and then down. It would have been quicker, ideally, to go via Warrior square, but as this is not an option, then as I have suggested...
