It is the very epitome of the mainstream right. There were several Conservative MPs eating there yesterday and it is still a centre for Conservative intrigue. Cabinet Ministers regularly turn up to be questioned by the members in private meetings. How is that not "mainstream right"?
Really? I had lunch at the Carlton Club yesterday, a club which describes itself as "the oldest, most elite and most important of all Conservative clubs" and is only open to "persons of full age who support the Conservative Party". It was only ten years ago that women were not allowed to be full...
I'm not sure that that is the case. If the cake had, for example, two men as grooms on the top, could the baker legitimately refuse to make it on the grounds that this went against his beliefs and he would refuse whatever the sexuality of the person ordering the cake?
That is exactly what was happening. If the baker had dropped it, he would have been considered guilty of homophobic discrimination and a precedent would have been set that it was illegal to refuse to do certain work for certain people.
It wouldn't apply to your scenario because the Jewish...

My point is not a party political one, it is not a comment on the policy one way or the other. I just think that this is the sort of thing that should be dealt with by a junior minister - not the PM; it seems like a rather cack-handed attempt at populism when she should be concentrating on more...
Good to see that May is going to address the vitally important subject of tipping in restaurants in her speech. Can't think of anything at all that I would prefer her to be dealing with - crucial that this is dealt with at prime-ministerial level...
If there was a continental football world cup which pitted S. America vs N. America vs Europe vs Asia vs Africa (I think we can forget about Antarctica), who would you support?
- Barbecued Butterflied Leg of Lamb
- Really Good Red Burgundy
- Sourdough bread
- Marmite
- Maldon Smoked Salt
- Yarg (the garlic one if available)
- Pistachio Ice Cream (natural)
- Top quality cheese and onion crisps
- Roast Potatoes (only if very crisp on the outside with some...
A lot of HMHB tracks seem to include a real person but there is a particularly rich crop in this one:

I go to the library most weeks to borrow books for me and talking books for my Mother-in-Law who has recently gone blind. I would go more but cuts have meant that my local library has reduced hours over the weekend making it more difficult to visit.
