Also, and a bit off topic, but statistically paying high wages has a bigger impact on a team's fortunes than paying big transfer fees.

Just added another paragraph to previous post. I think the flexibility Poyet pushed for means the playing budget is now one flexible pot rather than one for wages and one for transfer fees. It might be we have a higher actual wage bill but spend less on actual transfer fees.

TV types don't seem to do any research beyond their own opinions. I am sure there are some pundits etc who do, but the majority seem ignorant to footballers not playing in the Premier League.
