Considering the game plan didn't suit him I thought he did fairly well. Not convinced he was as amazing as some are suggesting, but he did OK. I think the gushing praise probably says more about how little we expect from a centre forward in the absence of Ulloa.

I think the flexibility Poyet pushed for means the playing budget is now one flexible pot rather than one for wages and one for transfer fees. It might be we have a higher actual wage bill but spend less on actual transfer fees.
This was the line which immediately leapt out from the Oscar piece.
But the club has now responded to the issue on Twitter and clarified the context of the comment, i.e. overall budget NOT playing budget - which actually increased.

TV types don't seem to do any research beyond their own opinions. I am sure there are some pundits etc who do, but the majority seem ignorant to footballers not playing in the Premier League.
I used to love the lazy TV types saying he wasn't that good because he hadn't scored against English sides in the Champions League (until he scored for Barca (I think) against Arsenal).
