Yes, you would hope so in fairness to the thousands travelling. The diehards are football fans and will also be aware that the cups are traditionally the opportunity to give some squad players much-needed match experience, and so a fairly strong team, if not the strongest possible starting...
I am not suggesting otherwise -it is a forum for all, but surely the idea was to comment on Tony Bloom and how deserved this is, given what he has contributed to the club and city, as you well know. But, as ever, the virtue signallers have to come on and derail it.
Yes, I too was surprised to see that he was being overtaken or stopped, feeling that he would not out-run the defender, but then as others have said, he did do an awful lot of running, as he always does, so perhaps we should not be too critical.
They really should let anyone on, numbers permitting, and even into these carriages. I recall one day when we were in the rear of the Seaford -bound train, and wanted to get off at lewes to get the Hastings train following on. Loads were in that carriage and we all just walked on to the carriage...
Definitely renewing - have supported the club for 63 years and despite all the current moans and frustrations with injuries and transport, really we have never had it so good.
yes, I agree -their bank balance has no relevance to their fitness. Recovering from 90+ minutes of elite football does take time, but they did have 4 days to rest after the Arsenal match, so tiredness could not have ben a huge problem, though might have been a slight issue -who knows? Where I do...
Thank you and the same to you -seems utterly incredible that others have only sarcasm and contempt -bet they are precisely the ones that on other threads talk of diversity and inclusivity, well...for others in practice.
Yes, one can certainly argue that, but to be fair to the club, had they done this in say late January, one could just as easily have said that that was unreasonable, given that finances have to recover after Xmas.
Absolutely -it has been a fantastic journey so far and well done to all those incredible fans who made the away matches - last Thursday was brilliant and capped the whole experience. Long may it continue in the new Year.
I really wonder if you are getting a better deal when you re-nationalise the railways. For all the criticism of the current franchises, you would be replacing them with a nationalised franchise which you cannot change. It is a massive leap of faith to assume that a better service would ensue.
We can argue to the cows come home as to whether the system should be nationalised or privatised, as the politicos always will, depending on their individual stance. But in my many decades of life, I only ever recall problem after problem with the running of the trains, and can only put it down...
Which is why I was asking why Southern don't employ more drivers so that they don't have to rely on overtime, which seems crazy. I think you did reply something to the effect that they will try "but good luck with that". I wasn't sure what you meant by that, but assume that the drivers would...
Thanks. I can get to Eastbourne Ok but the planner then shows nothing on to Hastings, so car it is. The last connection to Hastings leaves Lewes about 4.30, so I could go at half time . . .
I watched Burnley at Wolves on Tuesday and they made little impression on what was that night a mediocre Wolves team. Our main worry is complacency, and our tendency to throw points away at home, as we did against Sheff Utd and that poor team suffering all those tragic head injuries. Come out...
I find your post totally unnecessary. I worked for over 40 years, was a member of a union, who achieved much but was largely responsible in its actions. At no time did I criticise the idea of being in a union, and you are right in that the existence of unions has done much for the working...
