I used to collect football and cricket autographs as a kid. Only 2 I can immediately think of ever said no - Chris Old and Richie Benaud. Some went out of their way to sign, and I’d (surprisingly) give Geoffrey Boycott an honourable mention here.

I lived there for a few years. Lovely board walks over the water meadows or from the cathedral round past the Bishop’s Palace. Hyde Abbey, Hyde gate Winchester Barracks, Peninsula Barracks is nice just to wander round the square, just past Westgate (near the St James’ pub, my old local!)...
