So reading this and various other threads GP is not responsible for coaching and improving the strikers, not responsible for defensive errors at corners, not to blame for confidence issues. I could go on. If that is the case could we save money and not employ him?
I recently moved from fence to out.
I am beginning to wonder if football has moved on from me. I get the greatest pleasure from seeing my team win, a team I have supported for over 50 years. I don't much care for possession stats and XG. In my probably old fashioned opinion the only true...
Been out for a while now. Nothing i saw tonight in another toothless and predictable performance has changed that. However good the possession stats are we just dont win enough under this manager.
But thats the thing. You see 1 win at home in just over a year, 2 wins this season and 5 in the whole of last year as a run of poor form which will change. I and many others see it as more than that, a pattern that shows no sign of changing. We will have to agree to disagree and hope you are...
Moved from fence to out.
Even if you ignore the stats this season and the home record which is clearly not good enough, I see a team that is soft in both boxes, passive and ponderous in possession, devoid of confidence and lacking the nous and game management skills to hold on to and build on...
I admire your positivity.
I on the other hand struggle to believe with any confidence that we are suddenly going to win 6 or 7 games in just over half a season which is more than in the whole of 2020. One positive half yesterday is not enough to convince me.
No fence option so voted out.
As much as he gets credit for the half time turnround, one positive and forward thinking half isnt enough for me to change my position when looked at against the run of results since jan 2020 which have not been good enough.
And frankly if he gets deserved credit...
Still fence but close to out. 2 wins all season, 1 at home this year and our worst start so far in the league. Potter has to turn this very soon or i am out.
So. Its 2 wins this season, 1 at home all year and the same failures in defence and attack each week.
The responsibility for that falls on the manager. I like our football but unless Potter as the man in charge can find the balance needed to win games and sort out the poor defending we are in...
Voted Fence.
I don't think he has been helped by seemingly poor recruitment. We needed and didn't get a left sided defender, goalkeeper and striker and those failures are certainly a problem now.
I like the style we play but I wonder if we have the players that can make this system effective...
1 home win in 13, 4 wins in 24.
I can understand that the question need to be asked because that kind of record is not good enough no matter how pretty your passing is.
1 win in 13 at home. 4 wins in 24.
Think Potter is getting off lightly, that sort of record deserves questions no matter how pleasing on the eye the team is. He has to do better and soon.
Yes it is a must win.
What is it now, 4 wins in 24. Whilst I haven't joined in the calls for Potter to be sacked nor will do, I can well understand those that do, particularly if we fail to beat Burnley tonight. It is a poor record and one that is open to questions and fan unhappiness. Lets...
I voted yes in that thread. I think we will be in and around the bottom all season and have concerns over depth in forward areas, an injury to Maupay is a massive concern in my mind. Your don't agree, but to say everyone with those concerns is 'wetting themselves' is unnecessary, although I...
Voted yes as I fully expect to in or around the scrap at the bottom all season. We play some lovely foootball with lots to admire but to me this window has left us inexperienced and lightweight and one injury to Maupay away from a serious issue. Assuming that we are done with first team...
I hope that a striker and LWB are on the agenda today. If, as seems likely, they don't happen I reckon the window will have to be classed as poor. To me we have lost physicality, experience and will be an injury (or loss of form) to Maupay away from being in deep trouble.
That's the thing though. The government has fought the fire based on the advice of their experts, whilst other experts have a differing opinion. It is so new to everyone that nobody is really sure of the best and correct way. Undoubtedly things have gone wrong, but like others I think the time...
