Behind the modest points tally there are some glaring problems - why are we so consistently clueless at corners? Why can’t we take free kicks? Why do we look to attack with crosses when we have midgets up front? Why can’t our strikers finish? Why can’t we get the win when we have most of the play?
That all said overall I like what he and the club are trying to do and I want him to be given every chance.

Not even close to sacking Potter and nor should we be.

Played well against the big teams and lost form at the wrong time. It will get better but whether we have enough in this squad to stay up will always depend on luck.

We enjoyed a shed load of luck last season and still flirted with the trap door...that luck seems to have deserted us so far this season

Here's a question for the OP.

When should you leave your missus?

When she makes a m'eh dinner for you 5 days in a row?
When she gets into a habit of not shaving her legs?
When she starts mooching about in trakky botoms?
When she finds she's 'not in the mood' a bit more often than to your liking?
When you catch her shagging the window cleaner?

Decision, decisions

Here's a fun fact for you, last year, with these identical fixtures, we had won 5 points from them, this year we're on 6. To clarify, you want to sack a manager showing progress result to result?

I'm not sure. The Championship is a slog and to get promoted you need to grind out the ugly wins. I'm not sure that's in GP's make up. Swansea finished 10th under him and their positions have improved since....

Good point. I was thinking this style of play if afforded more space could work better, that said, we'd lose our better players so probably end up playing this style worse with a similar outcome. :nono:

Genuine question - when should Potter be sacked?
4 wins in 25 games is not temporary loss of form.

Never?
When we are relegated?
10 points adrift of 4th bottom at Christmas?
If we don’t win in the next month?
If we can’t beat Villa?

Wasn’t the stat our last 7 defeats have been all against teams in ‘the big 6’ and Everton who will come top 6? You can spin stats how you want.

I’d like to think we’d stick with Potter if we did go down, but also don’t think we will. I also think you don’t appreciate how hard it is for the likes of us in the premier league, constantly playing against teams with much bigger budgets / experience but there ya go.

If we lose the next 6 or 7 we should sack him, that’s my opinion. Apart from something disastrous like that it’s quite difficult to say...?

I’m gonna be mental and take each result as it comes (and performance).

Not even an insane chairman sacks a manager with his team visibly playing well with a decent team spirit, keeping clean sheets, and all be it not wins but picking up points.

Insane fans can start threads on football forums about it though.

same old story. No good playing pretty football if you can’t score goals.

He, his coaching team/style, just don’t seem to be able to win matches.

I would be disappointed if the Albion sacked Potter at this point in time.

The team play some good stuff but ,as pointed out before ,there are areas where we really need to be much better. If these are not addressed by January/February then I guess the board may get twitchy but I doubt it

Of the 8 games played I reckon we were the better team in 5 of them but only won one of them.

Certainly not so long as we are playing such dominant attacking football. Lack of a goal or two tonight very frustrating, but I am pretty convinced our luck will turn.

Tonight was the first game this season we’ve not scored in.

We kept a clean sheet tonight

We have more England caps in our side since god knows when

We have lost our last 7 to the big 6 & Everton

We were unbeaten in 8 or so prem games away up to the Everton game

Stats can we pulled to suit an argument often.

As long as the windows are still well clean, I think you sit tight.

1 home win in 13, 4 wins in 24.
I can understand that the question need to be asked because that kind of record is not good enough no matter how pretty your passing is.

Can’t buy that. Huffed & puffed tonight but we were not unlucky. Pope didn’t have to make a proper save. 4 wins in 25 is PATHETIC

GET RID NOW please

And a new manager will make ALL the difference.

You have to admire blind optimism. It is the perpetual diet of the football fan.

We're now a team that if you don't beat a #teamslikeBurnley - you sack your manager!

Nevermind all the rest of it. Who is up next, #teamslikeVilla.

4th season in the PL, half the fanbase assimilated into the PL Borg collective already.
