As I posted earlier, it is simply survival instinct. As a prey animal you stay with the herd in times of danger. Continuing to run is a sign of stress not enjoyment.
The same could be said about many cruel " sports" - fox hunting, bear baiting, hare coursing etc . Thankfully the civilised majority has recognised the immorality in these activities and taken action to try and end them.
If it weren't for the money involved then undoubtedly the same could be...
The simple fact that, as you say, the design of the whip has changed and and the use of these has been legislated on only goes to acknowledge that their use is cruel.
On the face of it flat racing should be much safer for the horse than races over obstacles. Take a look however at the link I...
If there were co-drivers "encouraging" the driver to go faster by hitting them with a whip then I'm sure there would be vociferous calls for motor racing to be banned.
Not only that they are often injured whilst being hit with a whip.
How anyone can support racing, (the only place you can see an animal being repeatedly hit with impunity).and still have a clear conscience is beyond me.

Changed to bifocals and all is well. Not the same range of focal distances...
Snidey ???
I hardly think that highlighting the combination of Ferrari, (and some of their strategy decisions), with LH, (and some of his comments re strategy), will be fun can be considered snidey.
Not sure I'd go so far as being my hero but of all the current drivers my support is for Lando.
Are you sure, really really sure, that he's been right more often than wrong?
And no, I don't have a pet hate for LH any more than for any other driver in F1. After all he's proved his ability time and time again.
Driver spur of the moment radio conversations are one of the things that add...
I don't know what trade you are in or the product in question but do you not have contacts or a colleague you could pay to carry out the repair for you?
That's only true for the first six months following purchase. After that it's up to the consumer to show the fault isn't due to fair wear and tear or is due to a manufacturing fault.
If a customer gets stroppy and decides to go for it they can hire an "expert" to testify at which point costs...
