Recently started a new job and its brilliant, great team and great people throughout the business plus some excellent opportunities etc etc.
In my team, it's predominantly male, average age of mine, which is late 20's. All top blokes, BUT...when it comes to football, complete bell cheeses...
Well that is pleasing. I'd definitely warm to him a lot more if this is indeed fact. I just don't like his attitude sometimes, comes across quite arrogant, what with what I thought was his tax dodging etc I've just never really warmed to him.
Voted no, because he's offered nothing to society. He moved all of his assets and earnings to tax havens like most selfish super rich ***** and then has the gall to lecture us on shit.
Blokes a tosser, but an excellent F1 Driver.
As others have said, it was almost a slight excitement and amazement at how big this all is and has been and then it quickly dawned on me that it really is, bloody shit. Too many preventable deaths, still happening now and losing even more faith in our Government after backing them initially...
Absolutely this. We kick ourselves down a lot, especially recently. With that, we forget there is so much positivity when you scratch under the surface and our Sciences industry is probably the best thing to be proud of, especially now. It's always been the best in the world, but, even better...
I agree with regards to the melodies and the fact it is, at the end of the day, just a song.
But I disagree re the lyrics.
The lyrics are what makes most songs great, however I do get where you are coming from, not everyone listens to just the lyrics and vice versa.
As much as I'd love that, PC culture would do the complete opposite. It would mean a society which much less freedom of expression and speech and to have the freedom of offending someone, within reason of course (I don't mean homophobia, racism etc because that's entirely unacceptable), but...
No more, that's quite enough. BBC have done what they feel is right and what they have done is OK.
However, I do feel they've made a big song and dance about it. Just play the updated version, then the young darlings will hear that it is the more polite version and won't have any reason to...
And this is where the other side of me ultimately agrees that they've been sensible with it.
So it's not an overall bad decision, but I just find this constant censorship rather irritating. It has bought together a very interesting conversation anyway.
Back to what bought us together on...
As much as I'd like to agree, I do think this is being a little melodramatic and I'm rather left of centre with many friends from different sexual oriantations and races.
Agree there. That Fox bloke seems a tosser. However, my point was that I just find this constant changing of narratives irritating as its only pandering to small minorities or find this offensive, the majority don't. ]
But as said, I respect everyones views on the matter.
I am very pro BBC. Nothing to do with defundbbc as you say, I just want to see some bloody common sense shown for once. Play these old tracks for the youngsters so they can make their own choices to listen to them or not without all this bollocks surrounding them if they are offensive or not.
