I think it's probably the intermediaries/agents agreeing hypothetical deals and then the clubs getting involved once details are in place. Perhaps that's how they avoid censure.
I'm relaxed if he goes. He's neat and tidy but not much more than that. He has zero goal threat and isn't particularly strong in the challenge. He's a useful squad player here but if his leaving means we can get better players in, I'm all for it.
I'd like Howe or O'Neil. I'm not convinced that Potter could cope with the pressure and/or big player egos. Potter also always struggled against teams that sit deep which is a common occurrence for England.
