I can only assume that his career was a victim of all the turmoil at the club at the time. He made his debut at 18, getting his chance when Beeney was sold, and was really good around the time of that Brady renaissance when we were up near the top of the third tier, knocking PL Leicester out...
f***ing hell. Only home game i can definitely remember going to was Hereford, for 70 odd minutes till we all walked out. And i was at Doncaster for that absolutely dreadful 3-0, vaguely recall a dreadful defensive mix up with Rust.
But look at that fixture on 26th October 1996, Brighton 0-0...
FDM, obs, but I am galled by the omission of Nicky Rust. I was convinced he would play in the premier league, even England, when i first saw him :lolol:
They should just stick the replays up on the big screen, let the ref and his assistants watch them, and they make a decision. The VAR room should be nothing more than a video operator, let the refs ref their game and let the fans see what is being reviewed
I'm not entirely sure i did. I really like Jason Steele as a person and his contribution to our possession play has been nice. But that video basically consists of an awful lot of attackers whacking the ball straight at him. The Leeds one was a decent stop, as was the first one in the video...
Care to point out any of his excellent saves? I feel like his highlights reel will contain lots of canny passes and not a lot else.
Anyway I'll disagree with you that he had a poor game, he was perfectly fine, all the shots were towards the corners or deflected, and his passing was solid. The...
It was really interesting because the villa defender kicked the back of Pedro's boot, which was touching the ball, in effect making the pass. As Pedro was last to touch it, it presumably counts as his pass. But I was wondering if, had Fati been offside, we'd have got a penalty as the defender...
They drew the lines on Martinez because, as many say, the guy off the pitch counted as being on the line. Fati was just onside - just, it was close.
The reason they took so long to check was to see if Pedro or the defender had played the ball. If they'd done the lines first then they could...
Will he bloody well better be or I'm going to get quite upset 😀
I have faith that he is considering he's been called up to the full Dutch squad already
I imagine when we're out of the cups and Europe we'll see a strongest eleven game in game out for the second half. And then hopefully go again in Europe and the league 24-25 with a more experienced team. Its a long game.
Here's my postcard:
RDZ is playing the long game. Its a long season and players will get tired. So rotating, resting, giving minutes to young players and trying out different things is more important than the result.
Villa away is easily one of our four or five hardest fixtures of the season...
Costing us points isn't the issue, he doesn't really make mistakes to my memory. What Steele doesn't do is WIN us points, but i hope that Bart can do that (y)
You're probably right. It doesn't really make much sense though
Bart is very good with his feet. So he immediately nullifies Steeles skills, begging the question why not play him more?
I'm not making that link, so don't worry. But they're is a correlation between possession and number of shots.
Would you agree that scoring the first goal is important in games where teams sit back against us? So it follows that if our keeper can pull off a worldie preventing the other team...
I remember Sanchez making a good save on his debut too, if that helps. And dropping a clanger at Palace. But I'm shaping a narrative here goddammit man!
