Despite Blooms public backing, it seems like Burke's decision to ditch the senior scouts he inherited (Aranalde and Day) has finally been addressed.

He's supposed to be a good pro but has not stood out during run outs with the Under 21's and can't break into the weakest first team midfield for 4 years. He's another Burke buy and on a 3 year deal so hopefully he can progress as it may be hard to shift him under contract.
I doubt the club will admit this but we are very much in a rebuild phase after 3 poor windows - with a lot of deadwood on contract. Despite backing Burke, I think Tony must now realize recent recruitment has been a shambles and some immediate (if temporary and costly) fixes were necessary.
If...
My grandmother was in regular contact with Frank until she passed away last year. When she heard tales of his violence, she would phone him up and quiz him on it. He'd usually admit it straight away, revel in giving his version of events and she'd tick him off like a naughty kid. The time span...
Against Rotherham he had a very impressive game which was encouraging. Other than that he's comfortably cost us more points than you'd expect a keeper to be responsible for with 18 games gone.
The saves he made were decent but you'd expect a championship keeper to make them. His biggest contribution was gifting Norwich the ball for their first. It was an appalling decision and the execution of the throw was shocking.
If we are going to stick with Hyppia, it's vital we have a positive transfer window. I think an experienced manager would get more out of the current squad but adding some quality (like an old head in Midfield, a physical and mobile centre forward) while ditching some dead wood will give him no...
He was looking for a foul on occasions as on the break he had little options in front of him. If we had a centre forward who could hold the ball maybe he could have been even more effective. Shame about the cut back but otherwise our best player today.
I said in the summer we are sleepwalking towards relegation and am still of the same opinion. The performances have been toothless and vulnerable while recruitment decisions have been a total shambles. Bloom backing the current personnel and strategy seems like either denial or stubborn...
When Bloom responded to criticism of the summer window I thought he had had misjudged the opinions expressed by many who expressed concern. I get that he wants the stability of a dedicated recruitment function that does not change with the manager and there's some best practice to this approach...
Barry said he knew we should sign him after watching him warm up for a few minutes. Burke and his cronies typically watch players 5-6 times and still churn out duds.
The club is sleepwalking into relegation and shows no intention of recognising or addressing the causes of our slump. I'm totally disillusioned right now.
Other than Stockdale and Stephens pretty much every recent new signing has been at best a significant backward step or at worst, a total waste of money.
The senior players should read him the riot act and get him to switch tactics. The only person Sami should read the riot act to is Burke. That's if Burkes seniority in the clubs hierarchy and HR issues permit of course :wozza:
