Isn't it only Greer, Bruno and Kaz who started against Norwich? Hardly a majority

Add Forster Caskey, Ince with Calderon, CMS, Walton on the bench all Gus signings.

Go back a week against Blackburn and you had Dunk, Greer, Calderon, Forster Caskey, LuaLua, Ince, Walton in the side and Ankergran on the bench.

Didn't think we had too many Gus players left now. Dunk, JFC, Ince and March were DS.

I reckon that means Bruno, Calderon, Greer, Kaz, CMS, Crofts, Ankers are the Gus players ???

You can add to that Fenelon, Harris, Maksimenko, Walton, Rae all in the current first team squad on the official site.
All these player's listed signed by Gus, I make that 16

Maksimenko signed for Brighton 5 months before Poyet's departure. Toko signed for Brighton 1 month before Hypia, see the difference?

You're implication is that Poyet signed better players than others....Which i don't have an issue with if true. Maksimenko is not one of the good ones although you site him...I do see the difference, but using stats of poor players doesn't really back up your argument.

Where have I sighted any of the players are good, I have listed all the Gus signings still attached to the club.
I am merely saying that two mangers on, the backbone of the squad was signed by Poyet and the balance of our teams are mainly loan players.

Here is a stat that worries me, we have signed 26 players since Gus left and yet each week the team has a majority of Gus signings still in the side.

Above, unless you are arguing that the side is not good....which i guess is possible :)

NO, we are treading water until the development squad become the first team squad with a hope that we won't fall through the trap door.

Interesting use of Bent though. He is a seriously good goalscorer that I would suggest is far too good for our style of football. I wonder how much Sami knew of his coming, or one morning burke pitched up at his office and said " he is a forward, put him up front to appease the boooooooo boys"

So why after making 26 signings, is there still a majority of players brought in by Gus. making the squad. Our recruitment guy has been on Albion roar stating his role is to make sure the signings he brings in are better than what we already have. Is he succeeding?

I doubt the club will admit this but we are very much in a rebuild phase after 3 poor windows - with a lot of deadwood on contract. Despite backing Burke, I think Tony must now realize recent recruitment has been a shambles and some immediate (if temporary and costly) fixes were necessary.

If we can secure both Bennett's on permanent deals and bring in a couple of permanent strikers to compliment Colunga and Baldock that should address the immediate weakness and demonstrate some long term ambition.

Getting CMS, O'Grady, Toko and Agustien permanently off the wage bill will free up a big chunk of the budget. That lot most be costing 30 to 40k+ a week.

I don't disagree with your main point here. Recruitment has been disjointed with the regular changes in managers and changes in system. I also don't have an issue with Gus having hired good, and loyal team players. My point is that Gus hired some duds too so mentioning the total number he signed who still hang around is not directly relevant to your main point. Team should be good for tomorrow though. Can't wait

True he did sign some duds Harley, Dobbie, Holdroyd spring to mind, but he also signed players that have brought in around £16 mill to the club.
Who in the last 26 players signed, is likely to bring even a quarter of that sum, or even demand a decent transfer fee?

A few of these are getting on now, but it appears we are still unable to find better who can displace these players. How much have these 26 cost the club?
