Looks like the main stand is going to have THREE TIERS for sure. The plans tonight clearly show a lower tier, directors tier (probably including hospitality), and an upper tier (which is huge at the halfway line and tapers down towards the corners). Class!
Mickey Small went to West Ham for £400K and scored 18 goals in the first season of the Premiership - not bad in a side that got relegated that season He then dropped out of the West Ham first team and ended up at Wolves I think?
Byrne was sold to Sunderland for a criminal £225K not long...
Got to agree that there were far to many plastic spurs fans in the pub today. There was one mouthing group of young lads who gave it the big 'north london' all through the match. When I got talking to a couple of them it became clear that they did not know some of the players in the Spurs...
That does not sound like the Bas Savage! Letting a club down at the last minute for an offer of a few pennies more at another. I suggest a future career for Bas as an estate agent when he finishes as a footballer.
She looks my old Ford Escort in its final days. 120,000 miles of being totally thrashed round the country, but eventually it showed its age and struugled to pass its MOT due to excessive wear and tear. If thats what 1000 shags does to someone then there is a lesson to be learned. I just hope...
Well done Bas.
You walked out on a 18month contract offer in December which meant you have not been paid for TWO months, now you have manged to land yourself that long term contract you were after - 3 months! I bet thats just what you and your agent were wanting.
Nice bloke, but greedy and...
The corners need sorting out, but the rest of the stadium looks top dollar. Hopefully DK can let us know what is planned for the corners on the 26th. I'm sue they must have one or two ideas on the drawing board.
I wonder if the club will be able to use the inside of teletubbie hill when it is not being used by Brighton City College? it would make a great pre match bar!
The three tier main stand rocks. We will be up there with the Cheski's and Man Utds of the football ground world.
Plenty of room for...
Barrys record of signing decent players is pretty impressive. Ok, he had a few dodgy ones (Farrington), but all in all his record of finding & signing decent players for cheap fees is hard to argue with. Just look at the strikers he bought to the club Nelson, Byrne, Small, Nogan, Gall...
We used to hold the record. We paid £115K for Robert Codner, then paid another £115K for Nicky Bisset a few days later. Both were bought from Barnet. That must have been back in the late 80's / early 90's.
On a recent trip to the USA (Texas) I listened with stunned disbelief to a debate on TV where some people thought because is name was Obama he must have terrorist links! I turned over after that, it was like watching the Jeremy Kyle show try to do Question Time.
Well put Mr Insider. There are too many people on this board who have lost all sense of reality of where this club has come since the dark days of '96 & '97. Prehaps the anti Knight brigade on this board never witnessed how Archer, Stanley & Belloti ran (f**ked up) OUR club.
Fair play to Dick Knight for actually engaging in conversation with us fans. There is many a Chairman out there that would not consider actually trying to hold a question & answer session with the fans of a club.
Things may not be perfect at the club, but they could be alot worse!
Good to see we are on the ball when it comes to signing players as the transfer window opens! Hopefully someone has remembered to put some paper in the fax machine, and put the answerphone on in the club office over the Christmas break.
I always thought Mayo might have adapted to a central defender. With Butters getting no younger, it would be good to have a bit of experience at the back. Mayo has played pretty well there when he has had to fill in that position from time to time during matches.
Hopefully we'll have another couple of French players turn up on trial next month. We seem to have good contact over there who can get us half decent players. A striker and midfielder from the French league 1 would be good start to the New Year.
