JPvH is great. Had a few ricks last night as he's learning his game. But he's going to be a rolls Royce of a defender and due to his age shows it a tiny bit inconsistently. I think he's excellent though and won absolutely every aerial dual last night.
My favourite moment last night was towards the end. That strangely weak and frail looking mr burnes lookalike Dane slightly under hit a pass trying to free their winger down their right. Igors eyes lit up and he put the afterburners on to cut it out and the water buffalo sound of him coming in...
Yep that's fair enough. I think Baleba is going to be that 'arse out and protect the ball' and more dynamic player in that role. Gilmour more of a metronome. It strikes me that there's more and more to his play though as he develops in confidence and he's definitely taking the ball on the turn...
Blimey. In the most respectful way possible I couldn't disagree with you more about Gilmours technical attributes. I think they are his chief asset, and Baleba will get there but can look a bit clumsy in comparison.
One thing that was also noticeable last night is how many 1:1's and headers a...
Yes. With Hinsh and Gross coming narrow forming a sort of box shape. Giving 5 or 6 passing angles when you include Gilmour.
Hes a right crafty bastard De Zerbi.
Think De Zerbi clearly rates him as he was given a really big, responsible role last night. Building possession from some mad flexible sweeper / central midfield / occassionally dropping into right back / inside half role
Why does the weather keep getting thrown in? 😄
It was a perfectly reasonable crisp cold frosty December's evening. Perfect football weather. Do people really consider the weather when deciding about attending?
I left Oxford (work thing, don't live there) at 3pm and just managed to get there in time.
It seems I was lucky as I missed a big pile up on the a23 that must have happened shortly after I passed through (hopefully not a result of my erratic lane changing) which seemed to affect a lot of...
Him and Hinsh played the most liberal interpretation of full backs I've ever seen. Coming narrow when we had the ball almost making a box with the CB's and a triangle around Gimlour with Baleba dropping back between and behind the CB's t create new patterns.
It really worked Brentford didn't...
10 of their first team injured and I think so much of their gameplan relies om Toney and Mbuemo.
They were a nightmare for us last season but were pretty toothless last night. They didn't seem to have a particular plan. Especially on the ball. Their attempts at passing at the back were amusing...
