Going past your house earlier and admiring your wildflower verge, I realise I have managed to grow a beautifully cultured verge of 2ft high grasses with the VERY occasional poppy, cornflower, daisy etc flower just about peeking above them
I now realise that when you said 'scalp' it, you...
Election diary: Tory campaign going exactly as planned, say Tories
It’s just over a week since Rishi Sunak got soaked in the rain as he called the general election. Since then he has forgotten that Wales didn’t qualify for the Euros, paid a visit to Belfast’s Titanic quarter and been...
I agree with you, but until we do get a more democratic system which actually reflects the votes of the electorate, which I will also continue to advocate, these are the rules of you getting any sort of say.
So, in a two horse race it's simply which horse you want to govern you (Control taxes...
I know that this election's four word idiot slogan has been used hundreds of times already this week, but it's almost as if the far right and far left 'don't have a plan'
It does amuse me at the amex where 80% applaud it, 15% ignore it, and the rest fold their arms very aggressively across their chests. For that reason alone, I'm in
Really sorry to hear @Bozza. Having been through a couple of similar situations, I really don't think your mum is going home. Elderly people can be really independent until they get a big hit, and my experience is to try to get them into a situation with a far higher level of care than they want...
So the claims that DA had been banned from standing as a candidate by Starmer and that LRM had been 'purged' by Starmer, which have managed to keep the two extreme political factions of NSC both furious and celebratory (and often both) over the last couple of days have turned out to be total...
Well that would make sense and tie in completely with LRM's public statement wishing Starmer and the rest of the party all the best in the election.
Might make a few posters on this thread look rather foolish though
I did ask for Farage supporters to explain why he has appeared on Question Time more than any other individual in the history of Question Time - the floor is yours
I've just had a look at the people on question time who appeared the most, I can only find old figures, but it appears
Nigel Farage - 2000-2019 - 1.8 times per year
Ken Clarke - 1982-2013 - 1.6 time per year
Menzies Campbell - 1987-2013 - 1.6 times per year
Charles Kennedy - 1983-2015 - 1.4...
Why does someone who has stood and failed to become an MP on 7 occasions get so much airtime ? I know this has been asked a number of times, but does anyone have any idea why he keeps on appearing on mainstream media given the fact his single success was becoming an MEP, something we left years...
