  1. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Deniz Undav

Like most I'm pleased for him. He reminds me a bit of Ali J in the sense that he seems like a good guy, who gets his head down, works hard, isn't disruptive shows flashes of talent but maybe isn't quite good enough for the premier league. I hope this will act as the spur to kick on in his...
  2. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

[Albion] Julio Enciso - Paraguay’s new wonder kid (Signed 17/06/2022)

His development is clearly going through an upward curve right now. Where he is currently compared to just a few months ago is night and day. It's exciting to see as is the thought that there's a lot more to potentially come. There'll be ups and downs along the way but he's getting ready to...
  3. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Pascal Gross new contract

25 according to transfermarkt. I guess we;l have to wait a little longer for him to take the goal scoring crown.
  4. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Pascal Gross new contract

Am I right in thinking that those two goals have made gross our all time top scorer in the premier league? they take him to 27 don't they?
  5. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Wolverhampton Wanderers *** Official Match Thread ***

Look at this doofus! Ooooh, the line up doesn't fill me with hope! No worries, we'll just go and score four in the first half. Obviously helped by Wolves not just being at the beach but fast asleep in their deck chairs and/or buried up to their neck in sand. Still, you've got to capitalise...
  6. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Wolverhampton Wanderers *** Official Match Thread ***

Necessary changes but it doesn't fill me with hope. Gilmour has been an after thought so far under De Zerbi and Undav unfortunately hasn't looked like a premier league quality player at any stage this season. Hopefully both will shine today and we'll pick up a big three points.
  7. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Alex Scott

Don't know much about him, never seen him play but he seems very highly rated and appears to play in exactly the same positions as Ally Mac so yeah, why not? Get him in! If we replace Mac Allister with him, Pedro and Milner it's potentially some decent business.
  8. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] James Milner

Not one I'd be clamouring for but if the recruitment team see value in him it's difficult to argue against. We're going to have to sign some really young players to balance out the squad age. One Milner = An Enciso and a Buonanotte.
  9. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Your Albion five-a-side team

This is a deceptively tough question. Steele Caicedo Ally Mac Mitoma Gross I"m pretty set on Caicedo, Ally Mac and Mitoma but it's the last spot that's really tough. I've gone for Gross but it could easily have been Lallana, Ferguson, Enciso or Sarmiento.
  10. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] 1906-07 squad

Tina Turner, John Gregory, Alan Smith, Joanna Lumley, Jerry Hall and Will Smith all in the same Albion team.
  11. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Perspective

    Yes, I agree with that.
  12. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Perspective

I don't know. Again it depends on definition. We've spent 15-20million on Trossard, Bissouma, Maupay, Webster, Mwepu, Caicedo and Estupinian. We reportedly offered circa 25m for Darwin Nunez and, I think, several other players(but I may quite easily be wrong on that last point). When/if we...
  13. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Perspective

Yeah I think we're basically on the same page. The team and squad have done brilliantly. My point is that we've lost players that we're part of the squad and budgeted for and if we had them we would probably have done even better and been able to better ride the vagaries of the season. My...
  14. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Perspective

Yeah, I can't and won't disagree with too much of what you say. There's never, or rather rarely, just one reason for something. Var decisions and cancellations/postponements have put a strain on us for sure. The squad is just two players down on what it started the season with and with those...
  15. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Perspective

I fully agree that Bloom shouldn't break the model of how we run the club. It's a sure fire way to balls things up long term. If that's a common thought among the fanbase then I'm with you. I've not encountered it though(although my contact with the albion fanbase is NSC and my friends back...
  16. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Perspective

Are people blaming the running of the club? Are people saying we should change how we run the club? Genuine questions. I've not trawled through all the threads. I know there is a thread titled something along the lines of 'lack of depth will cost us'. It's a view point I have some sympathy...
  17. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Perspective

I think entitlement needs to be defined. It gets thrown about quite a bit. The clubs stated aim as said by Bloom and Barber is to be a top half club. RDZ and the players have openly talked about qualifying for Europe. I think it's fair within that context to discuss our chances good or bad...
  18. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

[Albion] Nottingham Forest vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Disappointing result to wake up to but not entirely unpredictable. Rest, recover and go again hopefully with more energy against Wolves. That'll be a game where the crowd will be important. If the players are flagging you need to carry them over the line.
  19. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

    [Albion] Matias Antonini

I mean, it's off the charts flair signing a player from what looks like the Italian County league but it's not very likely is it? Still, it's nice to finally be linked to a player who'll admit it's his dream to join us...
  20. Garry Nelson's Left Foot

[Albion] Decisions that have gone against us

It's not a great look to be constantly banging on about random decisions that don't go our way. Every team has them every single season. They are the decisions that more or less even themselves out over a season. Our only real complaint should be VAR and the three apologies we've received...
