Poke seems slightly odd as it was reported earlier in the week (and he confirmed it in the interview) that he had another year option - and the decision to stay or go was down to him.
Presumably there will be a lot more news in the near future regarding transfer-listed players?
Pathetic - and just the start of the Sun's witch hunt against Roy unless we produce some miraculous results in the Euros - when no doubt they'll change their tune as they see public opinion swinging against them.
Have to say I wanted Redknapp but thought he was excellent in the press conference...
I think CMS in his interview for the programme some months back said that McLean was the best player he has ever played with - they obviously work very well together up front BUT that would mean Gus having to change the way we play to incorporate 2 strikers
His mistake was moving to his left before the kick was taken - leaving him off balance and having too much work to do to get to the ball. If he hadn't moved, he probably would have saved it BUT you see a lot of top flight keepers making this mistake every so often. Cudicini made exactly the same...
He was subbed because gus blamed him 100% for the goal. He had an absolute fit on the touchline that mattock didn't close their player down and then signalled to noone to come straight on. Tano looked pretty baffled too but just told noone to get ready.
Then when mattock came off, gus totally...
Have to say I agree. The fact it has been embargoed until now - I was expecting something a bit more definite. He's basically saying he likes it here but hasn't made up his mind for next season...
Whilst I understand Gus wants to do right by the player, I'm not sure why we negotiated an option...
Haven't seen that much if him but, purely based on last night, I would definitely sign him up. His shot stopping was first class but, far more importantly, his general craft was excellent (which is where our keepers fall down) - coming out of his area to head clear on a number of occasions...
Yep - just you!!
They're not up to being number one for a top 6 Championship team (Gonzalez excepted as we haven't seen enough of him yet to judge) but they are plenty good enough for league 1 - whihc means there are also plenty of others worse in the country!
Think he should definitely play the last 2 games. You can't judge a person solely on one game. We've seen enough of Brez and Casper to know they are definitely not the answer. This guy may have made a couple of mistakes yesterday but thought he improved a lot as the game went on - particularly...
Gonzalez or Poke. Don't think Ankergren or Brezovan will be our number one next season so worth seeing whether Gonzalez has what it takes (before going in search of a new keeper) and whether Poke is good enough for back-up (and long-term number one)
