Brezovan 7. Did what he had to do.
Calderon 8. Good game. Great pass for the goal. He was crying out for the ball second half but was largely ignored.
Dunk 7. Couple of misplaced passes, otherwise pretty solid.
ElAbd 6. OK game. Has played better.
Mattock 7. Good game. We should sign him.
Buckley 7. Not everything worked for him today and some misplaced passes. OK game.
Bridcutt 6. At fault for the goal, otherwise OK without being as good as we know he can be.
Navarro 7. Played well. One excellent shot which deserved a goal.
Vicents 7. Some great stuff mixed with a few poor corners. Has played better.
Barnes 6. Would have been 5 if not for the goal. Poor game. Ball control was not up to par.
CMS 7. OK.

Subs:
Dicker 7. Played a lot better than his last two games. Brought back too early?
Noone 6. Left back is not his position.

Disappointing game overall. We could have / should have won. The end of the season has become a bit of a damp squib.

Brezovan - 7. Couldn't really do much about their goal. Otherwise reassuring.

Calderon - 8. Great link-up play with Buckley and solid in defence.
Dunk - 6.5. A few misplaced passes, but otherwise good.
El-Abd - 7.5. Solid.
Mattock - 8. Pretty damn good, sign him up.

Bridcutt - 9. Ran the midfield today, my MotM.
Navarro - 7. Some good passing and unlucky not to score with a decent strike.
Vicente - 9. Would've liked to see more shooting, but quality on the ball once again, winning it many times too.
Buckley - 7.5. Gave their defence some trouble.

Barnes - 8.5. Great show, won us some free kicks and didn't spend as long on the floor today. Nice finish for the goal.
Mackail-Smith - 7. Came close to latching onto a few rare through-balls, and persistant as ever.

-----

Dicker - 6. Not sure about this substitution, but it wasn't a disaster.
Noone - 7. Was Mattock still recovering or lacking fitness? Very attacking substitution but fortunately didn't have to defend much.

Brezovan 7. Barely a save to make, but no chance with the goal
Calderon 8.5. Man of the match IMO. Excellent today
Dunk 7. Good game, possibly his last home game
ElAbd 6.5. Outshone by Dunk IMO
Mattock 7. Solid. Baffled why he was subbed
Buckley 7. Not at his best, but seemed to switch between right wing & centre forward - didn't seem to know where he was playing
Bridcutt 7. Very good on the ball, not so good without it
Navarro 7.5. Another strong performance, but I have a suspicion he won't be here next season
Vicents 7. Not his best game IMO.
Barnes 8. Just don't understand what he has to do to get more backing from the supporters. Keeps the ball, wins free-kicks, scores goals. It's not his fault he has to play out wide
CMS 6. Not as bad as he has been, but still.... towards the end he tried to control the ball, it hit his knee and ballooned into the crowd. Sums his season up

Brezovan - 7. Did nothing wrong and distribution better than recently

Calderon - 8. A different class when skipper. He's an amazing pro.
Dunk - 6. Ok but clearly shaken out of his stride by a heavy fall
El-Abd - 7.5. A quieter game than usual but an absolute rock.
Mattock - 7. Not sure why he went off. Looked a threat going forward and solid devensively.

Bridcutt - 7. Not his best game but still quality.
Navarro - 7. So improved. Breaks up play really well.
Vicente - 9. Pass master. PLEASE STAY!!
Buckley - 6. Still in and out of games. When he's in he'd very in. When he's out things just don't work
Barnes - 8.5. Another goal from left wing. Getting more clinical
Mackail-Smith - 6. Just doesn't seem to click

Dicker - 6. Ok but lots of sideways and backwards passes.
Noone - 7. Added a lot going forward

Mattock 7. Solid. Baffled why he was subbed

He was subbed because gus blamed him 100% for the goal. He had an absolute fit on the touchline that mattock didn't close their player down and then signalled to noone to come straight on. Tano looked pretty baffled too but just told noone to get ready.

Then when mattock came off, gus totally ignored him but gave navs a hug and a pep talk when he came off.

Seemed pretty harsh to me but that is why he was subbed.

Brezovan: Good game - little to do but did well with the ball when he had it. 7
Calderon: Excellent game- good going forward and back - close for MOM for me. 8
Dunk: Solid - thought he was better than tues night, but the knock he got early on shook him a bit. 7.5
Ed Abd: Thought he kept King at bay well today...still not sure about his distribution, but solid overall. 7
Mattock: The full-time left back option- solid everywhere. 8
Buckley: Struggled early on, but slowly came into it - i think burying his early effort would have done wonders for his confidence. 7
Bridcutt: Dominated the midfield - ballsed up a bit for the goal but really good other than that. 9
Navarro: Impressed me today - more adventurous than i've seen him and it worked well. 8
Vicente: Good, if not brilliant today - link up play was good but dead balls were a bit off. 7
Barnes: Solid. Good tracking over the pitch but his constant pleas for a free-kick each time he hits the deck annoy me. 7
Mackail-Smith: Did well without ever excelling - plenty of legs but really needs a goal to get his confidence flowing. 7

Dicker: Passing was better, but not much chance to make an impact. 6
Noone: Caught in a left-back role he's not totally comfortable in - would have like have seen him have the ball more in space but it didn't materialise. 6

Brezovan 6 - tidy enough, not much to do
Calde 7.5 - in great form, agree with op, gets in great positions and can play a mean final ball, but fails to get picked out
El Abd 6 - strong, good passing
Dunk 6 - solid enough
Mattock 7 - i hope we sign him
Bridcutt 7 - usual decent shift from newly crowned player of season
Navarro 7 - not sure why subbed, maybe because yellow card, another good game, must be given a contract
Buckley 7 - some lively runs
Vicente 8 - behind all our best moments, worthy man of match. Fans really made their love of him known today - please stay!
Barnes 6 - not his best game, but defends well and in right place to net Calde's tee-up
CMS 6 - worked hard but well marked, no real opportunities

Subs:

Noone 6 (for Mattock)
Dicker 6 (for Navarro)

Brezovan 7.5 - It doesn't seem to matter how often he catches it in a match, people always focus on the one or two times he doesn't. Some idiot in front of me sarcastically congratulated him for catching it "for a change". It was easily his seventh or eighth catch of the game, but he tipped one clear in the first half, and punched one clear in the second, so, yknow, we ignore the other catches.
Mattock 7.5 - it's weird, he doesn't seem to do anything spectacular but we seem so much stronger with him as left back.
El Abd 7 - concentrated more on defending than riling his opponent, seemed more solid.
Dunk 7 - Seemed more comfortable than v watford Solid game.
Calderon 7.5 - Agree with the above poster that he seems to perform better when captain.
Buckley 7.5 - some positive runs, regular threat.
Navarro 8 - Has got better and better all season, today was another strong performance
Vicente 8.5 - Influential
Bridcutt 7 - Mostly solid but too often he just hoofed the ball to their keeper (or off the pitch), and it looked to me like he had a chance to clear the ball before birmingham scored but got muscled off the ball.
Barnes 8 - Another player who is accused of always doing things he does once or twice a game. He will have an occasional poor touch, but he also has some sublime touches, always getting into great places, perfect positioning for the goal. Very good performance today.
CMS 7 - The effort was there, but he was not making the right runs, or passes, and his control was a little off. Hopefully next season will be afresh start and he will start to produce.

Dicker 7.5 some good passes, didn't lose possession as much as v watford.
Noone 7 Is Gus trying to make him into an attacking Full back? If so he has a lot of work ahead of him. Constantly out of position as a full back, and didn't seem to want to get forward as much as usual, but didn't cost us anything.

Weird game. I thought our passing was good, we controlled the game, but lacked that finishing touch. Then when Birmingham scored I expected them to sit back, but they actually started to take the game to us, getting confidence from the goal, then when we equalised we controlled the last 5 minutes or so.

I do wonder about our fans sometimes. There's seeing things through blue tinted glasses, then there's viewing it through opaque blue glasses. According to some around me any time Birmingham challenged us there were calls for bookings. One of our player fouls their player, the ref waves play on (i.e. there was a foul but he is playing advantage) these fans then started ranting about how he should b booked for diving if he's not giving a foul, and not in a sarcastic way. They were genuinely irate about it. Ridiculous.

I do agree with you about our fans etc. If we, as fans, shout abuse for even the most innocuous of challenges, then we as a club will get nothing from referees.

I agree with most of your ratings but personally think that Barnes performance was poor today other than the one excellent finish on the goal.

Sadly, for me, he seems unable to progress play and, in that, I mean that if he receives the ball and is closed down, he never can retain the ball and tends to fall over and things don't progress from there. BTW, I recognise that he works hard just not much end result.

Very harsh considering it was Bridcutt's fault for the goal for punting the ball aimlessly to their keeper when we were attacking. Love Liam but he constantly did that today which really aggravated me. Apart from that solid as always.

Mattock makes us so solid. Really hope Gus tries to sign him in the summer.

It seemed in that second half that Barnes was winning the ball with his head on the left wing and laying it off to a team mate or winning a corner/throw in every time it was lofted over that way. He reined in his diving today, linked well with Vicente frequently, and often on the left played some good one-twos with mattock and noone. He was constantly dropping back to provide cover for mattock.

Too often he is given the ball when someone is already practically on his back and then people (talking about the people around me) get on his case, having unrealistic expectations of what any player can do in such a situation, making him seem worse in such situations than he actually is.

Now this is the Barnes I was watching.
