I had so many problems upgrading this summer that I ended up writing to my MP, the BT complaints team and Offcom. They eventually got it sorted and I got10 poindsa month off of my monthly bill for the length of the contract (Big deal!). OpenReach are abysmal. Emailing the MP was most effective.

Whatever you do, do not get zoom binoculars. Nikon/Opticron good bets in your price range. Go for either; 8 x 32 - if weight is consideration. If you want a bit more power then 10 x 42 - there is not as much difference in the magnification that you would imagine and you will get more image shake...
