    Newcastle vs Sheffield Wednesday

Newcastle not playing like promotion candidates, looks like they might blink first this Christmas.

    Joao Carlos Teixeira

I'd welcome him back with open arms. Brilliantly exciting player and could also play that number 10 role that we tried to buy Pritchard for.

    Wigan Athletic v Newcastle United

    Oh well. Palace lost

    Rowett leaves Birmingham

What an absurd sacking. If they are going to have an injection of funds, surely he would be the man to spend these wisely. They have punched above their weight with him in charge. Football gets crazier and crazier, thank god we have TB in charge rather than a faceless far-eastern consortium.

    Clayton Donaldson

Making up for the luck we missed out on last season! It won't be an easy game but that will definitely help if he misses it.

Blackburn Rovers vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Great result and hopefully the fans who travelled enjoyed an entertaining game. Nights like these are the ones that decide promotion.

    Bong or Pocognoli?

Pocognoli has to keep it all the time he puts in a performance like last night. The second his standards drop (hopefully not) Bong should be back in. Great to have really strong competition for this berth.

    Player ratings v Leeds (h)

Stockdale 7 - had literally nothing to do, so have to award a standard mark Bruno 7 Dunk 8 Duffy 7 Pocognoli 8 Norwood 7 Stephens 7 Murphy 8 Knockaert 7 Murray 7 Baldock 7 No real outstanding man of the match performer but special word for Pocognoli who made an accomplished debut and Dunk...

R.I.P. Greg Lake. I was listening to him on my Christmas playlist earlier.

Bloody hell, neutral fans must be bored of seeing us play.

Good draw, chance of progress for our fringe players.

Jordan Rhodes - we are 'interested'

Not too surprised at this, we were in for him at the same time as Boro but couldn't match their offer.

The Annual Who Do We Want In Round 3?

Sutton United , Barrow or Eastleigh / Halifax at home please, good chance to see some fringe first-teamers and progress through, although as we know there are 'no easy games'. Definitely less bothered about it this year than in previous as would love to be playing top teams week in week out...

5 games left for Kazenga to save his BHA career

I still think he has a part to play. We have a lot of important games to play in quite a short space of time over the Christmas and new year period.

    Restaurant 2016

A good word for the Waterfront Brasserie at the Rendezvous Casino, Brighton Marina last night. Had a three course meal with prosecco which was first class. All simple but lovely food, crabcake starters, roast turkey with trimmings and Baileys cheesecake. What they do, they do extremely well...

    Brighton's worst XI

I've loved reading this thread, it makes you realise the complete and utter dross who've donned the shirt over the years. Some of them like Moralee, Neale and McCammon were so bad, they were literally off the scale of woefulness. Makes you appreciate how far we have come.

    Forest vs Newcastle tonight

I haven't changed my view since the beginning of the season. I honestly believe we are the best team in the Championship and by May, we will have proved it.

    Lib/Dems win Richmond Park.

Labour have alienated their traditional voters. THEY will be wiped off the map in the next election (and i've voted Labour all my life). Next election, as things stand it is conservative or UKIP for me.
