Which basically shows that neither is really that great, both conceding more than they should.
I think this is why there is rotation. If Bart was our full time goalie he would be getting pelters for some of his performances and there would be calls for him to be dropped. Only by playing Steele...
A week ago I wasn't going to get up for this. But now I find myself setting the alarm for 3.30 in the morning. I don't want to miss out, even though its daft and will totally write my Friday off...
It's just noise though isn't it? Watching on the telly I thought they were largely bland atmospheres in Marseilles and Rome. Yes a lot of noise, an extreme amount of noise, and awe-inspiring to see at the start, but where was the connection with the game? Where was the ebb and flow and the...
It does seem a blindspot, or maybe a weakness to drop a player he really likes. We've seen him be ruthless with players he has apparently fallen out with, like Trossard, Sanchez, Dahoud. But does he find it too difficult to do the opposite and drop his favourite players?
Thanks, I guess :)
Yes, my opinion is that Sanchez was better than our current keepers, certainly Steele and at the moment Bart but hoping that kid can develop. Still haven't seen the worldies from Bart that Sanchez used to pull off, but his overall game is promising.
Create a narrative? Yeah...
Alright, thats what you've heard and if true, yeah it adds up. I would like to hear the other side - there's always two sides - but I guess we won't. Such a shame that a relationship can break down like that and not be resolved because in the end everyone loses. Still can't quite get my head...
Point of order, that thread is NOTHING TO DO WITH selling Sanchez. The thread is about Sanchez being dropped and not recalled. Everything that happened post Sanchez saying he didn't want to play is nothing to do with the original point of that thread, but obviously it is all that people want to...
which bit? I mean, I'm trying to consider all sides here. You've heard he acted badly so was dropped, and kept on acting badly so he wasn't recalled, and the decision was made not to play him again? Yeah? We know that others have reported they heard the opposite to you, so its all hearsay, but I...
Well, no, you can debate the language but he was effectively pushed out. Dropped for someone not as good as him, back for a couple of the biggest games in our history (first ever win at Stamford Bridge, Cup semi-final) but despite playing well was put back on the bench, and then told in no...
I think if he didn't care and just wanted a move he would have sat happily on the bench. He wanted to play. RDZ didn't want to play him. Maybe that was justified by off field stuff, we'll never know. But this thread is really about him being dropped in the first place, I have never got my head...
Sanchez almost did exactly that away at Palace one year, think the 'don't let it bounce' game. Him and Duffy were right up at the Palace fans in the corner at the end, marvelous scenes.
Good, at least we've got to the same place. Thanks for admitting you revised your opinion of his ability based on what happened after he was dropped. I think the premise that he was a very good keeper stands, and we can wonder what would have been if never dropped. We'd probably still be calling...
Alright, fair enough, i did use the search button for myself and found a whole host of threads about Sanchez.
They go in a pattern. All the way up to Palace they are full of praise. Discussions about his ability to come did a cross being one of the best in the league. A long thread wondering...
