Kerr wouldn't have wanted to stay in the inside though, as Ingebritsen would've just blocked him off and he'd have had to expend so much energy trying to get around him. Staying on Ingebritsen's shoulder was the perfect position.
A National Record and a Silver medal, upgrade from Bronze last...
I don't think so. Kerr had to stay in contention with the pace, Ingebritsen has a legendary finish, so not to go with him would've been an error. Josh ran an excellent race, the American benefitted from that and that Ingebritsen was more concerned on who was outside of him than who was coming up...
I think it was going to take a miracle or the Dutch making a huge mistake for GB to beat them in that sprint. Cracking effort and silver is a fine reward.
Bit harsh 😁, he was a prominent Gymnast in his youth, but had to duck out of the sport in his teens because of his anaemia. Might not be everyone's cup of tea commentating, but his enthusiasm is a lot of fun alongside the other two commentators.
Hodgkinson just looked so calm and composed in that SF.
The Kerr v Ingebritsen rivalry is a bit of fun, both quite similar in personality and it adds a bit of spice. Think he's from Northern Scotland, certainly had that lilt to his accent.
Aye, they can easily just take it to the debate forum. Let's just keep this about the real time performances of outstanding athletes.
Harry Hepworth with a superb routine on the Rings for his first Olympics. Never had a gymnast in the Rings final, done himself proud with a seventh place finish.
It was good that the lad himself gave an explanation of why he got marked as he did. I would never have realised the huge knee bend landing of his second somersault meant loads of points were deducted, even though he landed it and didn't sit down.
Matthew Pinsent has grown on me as the regatta has gone on. His slight awkwardness, his proper dad shirts make me smile, but his knowledge and insight is fantastic.
Did we have any booing at the London 2012 games? I guess there may have been, but don't remember hearing any. Twice the French et al crowd have booed the GB players. The Mountain bike and now the GB rugby 7s women's team against the US. Seems a bit mean spirited considering it's the Olympics.
