That's what I assumed this thread was going to be about. Had to walk through the smoke this morning on my way down to have a nosey at the i360 beach landing. I didn't realize there had been two other significant fires in town today.
Looks like they're going to make their target after all. On recent trends they should get over the line today, with a couple of days to spare.

Then we'll just have to wait while they get production up and...
I was hoping their pledges might have trended upwards since the reviews started coming out but it's not looking good. Still, plenty of time for a late surge if they manage to get the word out.
Interesting product, and the super early bird price is a bargain if the sound quality really is as good as the reviews suggest. I wasn't looking for a new pair of headphones but I'm now quite excited to hear what these are like.
Just need to hope that this is one of those kickstarter projects...
To give a slightly more serious answer, if you fancy doing some of the big cultural sites I'd look at a 2-day Paris Museum Pass. It may not save you much money but it will save you a massive amount of time that you would otherwise spend queueing. Mrs Lately and I did a weekend in Paris earlier...
None of the money you pay to Sky goes to the BBC. In fact, until 2014 £4.5m of licence fee money was paid by the BBC to Sky for Sky to carry its channels (until 2011 it was £10m annually). Fortunately for licence fee payers this payment to Sky has been reduced to zero...
Because Twitter want to keep the website simple for new users. They have a problem with people trying it, not really understanding it, not having anyone to tweet to, and never coming back.
You might want to try TweetDeck, which was one of the most popular third-party apps before Twitter...
You're right that technically we can't tell what might have happened in the intervening time, but so far we haven't seen anything in the universe that could destroy a galaxy. I'd be willing to bet all my remaining vCash -- indeed actual cash -- that Andromeda is still there.
The caption on the video says that the image is just under 70,000 pixels on its long edge; Wikipedia says that the radius of the galaxy is approximately 110,000 light years, so from eyeballing it I'd say the image covers slightly over 70,000 light years from end to end. That's nothing like a...
Would it be giving away too much (or just derail the thread into silly NSC speculation) to say what field your idea relates to? Someone here might have contacts in the industry and be able to suggest someone trustworthy you could approach.
If the idea really is that simple it sounds like you'll...
That's a pessimistic selection of scores compared to a league game! Can't complain, though, as I've opted for one of them.
4-0 Spurs. I feel confident that we can restrict them to 4. As long as they play their B team. And they get bored once the game is in the bag.
God yes, especially as the ones with keypad tones switched on seem to have some kind of infinite text allowance and spend the entire journey bleeping out messages.
Elderly day-trippers returning from London inanely recounting every detail of their trip to the other person who was right there in...
And Salmond realised that cheap jingoistic slogans would do no better than the narrow "It's Scotland's Oil" campaign of the 70s, which is part of why he was instrumental in getting the SNP to promote a more inclusive and optimistic vision of independence for Scotland. As a result, the...
Or perhaps if you and your friends had been given the chance to vote, you would have taken more of an interest in politics.
I like the idea of teenagers getting their first opportunity to vote while they're still at school, and can be given guidance in things like: how the democratic process...
Fishing indeed, and I shouldn't try to be serious in reply, but you're wrong in vaguely interesting ways so...
Won an outright majority for the SNP in a PR-ish voting system for Holyrood that was assumed to lock in ineffectual (usually Lib-Lab) coalition governments indefinitely. That...
I feel robbed of the draw, although probably not as much as the Croatian team will this morning.
And I promise never to complain about "the standard of refereeing in the Championship" again.
