I wonder what Southgate will do for the next game. Does guehi come straight back in? He's done pretty well but so did konsa. Will shaw being back mean he wants to start him for yhe left footed balance and experience he'll bring? Or will he pit him at wing back? Back to a back 4?
He's decent enough. Not an elite keeper but a pretty good one and his performances for Everton and England over the years should have proven that. If you can't see that then the fault, I'm afraid is yours, not his. Maybe you're letting a personal dislike of him get in the way?
His hoofing...
f*** me watching this team is absolute torture.
4a.m, a penalty shootout win, another semi final and two hours of head in hands misery. Why do I do this to myself?
If we get him what would the plan be? 6 months training with the squad but playing U21s and the occasional spot on the bench then a loan in the second half of the season?
Straight out on loan? Straight into the first team squad?
I'm in the middle of watching The National's set and I was struck by the number of wires/cables. It might be a really dumb question but with modern life being heavily hands and wire free why is live music so cable heavy? Can tit not be blue toothed or wi-fied or something from...
I wonder what his catch phrase will be?
Gus had: ees complicated
Hughton had: these are a good team
Potter had: it is what it is
Rdz had: hot blood and big balls(although I'm not sure he actually said it that often)
What saying or phrase will Fabian bec known for?
As a swede you might not be fully aware of quite how low the bar has been set for England and quite how regularly we fail to get over it.
The England team and squad that went to WC 2018 was as weak as any in my life time. It was coming off the back of 10 years of absolute dogshite...
You know what, I think I agree with everything in your post other than 'everyone is thankful'. I genuinely think there are people that don't want England to succeed and some who are so blinkered that they won't acknowledge anything positive Southgate has done.
But you're right, most people...
I think the paragraph I have quoted here is really interesting.
I have no idea about your views on Southgate so my post isn't about yours other than using it as a jumping off point
One of the things that really annoys me about the Southgate debate is the lack of respect he gets for his...
Stick to football is great, a really enjoyable listen. I think its comfortably the best of the ex pro podcasts. It's a really good mix of people with differing views and experiences and Ian Wright comes across as just a lovely bloke.
I think we're talking at slightly cross purposes as your responding to something that wasn't quite my point.
My point is that there is a section of the public who seem to actively want England to fail and will take every and any opportunity to denigrate the team and everything associated with...
Yes but if we beat Italy and Croatia there would also be plenty of people saying we only beat them because they were two teams way past their best.
It is a fact that there is an element of the English football loving public who are only too happy to denigrate the English football team, it's...
I thought we were incredible.
Just kidding, we were awful, but we're through. Surely - surely - Southgate will change something for the next game. We can't keep playing like this. We have to start playing like a team, of at least being the sum of our parts.
f***ing football.
It's 3a.m. I've just sat through 90minutes of torture, Jude does some magic, I feel all tingly, and now I've got another half hour at least of this gut churning misery.
I dint know whether to laugh or cry!
