No, you're accidentally falling into Putin's narrative. The UK will stick with international law, and allowing Ukraine to defend itself with these weapons is within that law. It is Russia who break international law every single day, not Ukraine or its allies.
I think changes were made (crimes added, definitions changed) but Nazis from ww2 were prosecuted for war crimes. Difficult to do that if they weren't crimes during the war, but I don't know.
