In what respects streets ahead? Scale, yes. Great atmosphere at The Amex today, way louder than both times I've been to Emirates...and that pint of Harveys at half time compared to a plastic bottle of Carlsberg.
Would that be one of the boxes that were mainly empty on Wednesday night because the corporates can only get freeloaders in on the "big" nights to rattle their jewellery? And if your experience of Emirates is in a corporate box area of the ground how can you tell me that the concourse...
Yes it is fantastic in certain respects, mainly scale, but my point is that people moan about aspects of The Amex experience but what we have stands up very strongly and is better in many ways than The Emirates.
So a friend gave me a ticket to see Arsenal V Hull on Wednesday night and it was interesting to compare what the Gooners have compared to us and the typical gripes we get on NSC. So, in my opinion:
Stadium: the Amex is a better piece of design, definitely more interesting on the eye. The...
I think that you'll have a great time here, and as other posters have said if you have a good work ethic and can string a sentence together there are jobs to be had. There has been a growing number of young Irish in the city over the last few years for obvious economic reasons, which is the...
The Blackburn fans were a very quiet sullen bunch weren't they? The Albion singing was only sporadically loud, but Blackburn's 900 did nothing to stoke the atmosphere. They had plenty of chances so it wasn't like they had nothing to get excited about..!
The year I spent living in Calgary was alright, but frankly it is a VERY dull city and a flippin' long way from anywhere interesting. Went to see the Calgary Stampeders play (American football) and that was sensationally dull. I lived away from Brighton for 10 years, and my decision to move...
Hey Wellesley, welcome on board...I see you've been on NSC ever since July this year and have posted mainly a load of sh1te ever since. Well listen, me, Liam Brady, Tony Grealish, Keith Andrews, Stephen Ward, Mark Lawrenson, etc, etc, and the many many dedicated Albion fans with Irish roots have...
Saw one Millwall taken aside by a copper for sliding down a lamp post to jump ahead of the queue at Falmer station to join his mates. To be honest though they seemed alright and the cop could probably had a sense of humour about it...
Yeah there are some lovely pubs around East Croydon (not). Borough Market pubs at London Bridge would be my recommendation, The Market Porter does Harveys, or the Wheatsheaf.
