[Albion] My trip to The Amex vs. Fulham - Expat Report

Decamped at parents for 2 days. In some ways, it's like Monaco Sur Mer other than Glitz, Casinos, Ferraris and Sun.

[Albion] My trip to The Amex vs. Fulham - Expat Report

I found myself with a free Saturday tacked onto a quick business trip in London. Quick look at the fixtures and onto the clubs website to look for tickets vs. Fulham about a week out. I thought it would be a nightmare but found a single in W3H for 36 quid. I don't have an overseas membership...

    [Travel] BHA in Philadelphia

I wonder it is because of the cost of broadcasting multiple events in the UK? US cost of broadcasting is very low and everything is on TV, very few rules around live content even in the local markets. Peacock show every EPL game and the cost is free for Cable subscribers + Rugby Union games...

    [Travel] BHA in Philadelphia

They are showing ALL of the 3 O'Clocks on their schedule online. I would def call and see if The Wankers vs. The Winners is being broadcast.

Yes, that's the one I was referencing with the odd Palarse connection. I used to work 1/2 a block away and go there regularly. Had I known............

    [Travel] BHA in Philadelphia

Still here but no longer living in Philly!!!! But oddly enough, going back to Philly to be with friends and family for the SB this weekend. Not sure if the game is being played on USA Channel, as that will determine IF you can see the game. Most EPL games are now shown on Peacock (NBC...

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

A long decade of WW1 Trench Warfare. Occasional indiscriminate lobbing of missiles at civilian targets, trillions wasted on various weapons/aid, high oil prices (that help Russia), tens of thousands more dead (if we're lucky), lots of Ukrainian flags on Social Media Bios, various politicians...

[Travel] JetBlue - Gatwick to NY

Definitely a unique and creative use of a niche aircraft. Shannon refuel and passport control. Not sure there are any A318s left flying anywhere in the world.

[Travel] JetBlue - Gatwick to NY

Winter JetStream can be fun and prefer the ride on a Widebody when the bouncing begins. Better access to bathrooms typically.

[Travel] JetBlue - Gatwick to NY

Airbus 321 XLR equipment. New but single aisle aircraft. I'm a little old fashioned, but prefer widebody over the water. JetBlue aren't bad vs. usual US carrier competition.

    [Politics] Joe Biden

We're all entitled to our opinions (not so much in the US anymore) but it would be amazing if you could actually point out and defend ANY achievements made under Biden.

    [Politics] Joe Biden

The whole charade that Ukraine is a free western style liberal democracy, more EU member than not, is a sad joke. It's another quagmire where the US will be pouring endless billions of dollars into an intractable black hole for decades to come. There is no happy ending, no victory, no Russian...

    [Politics] Joe Biden

Lost in all of hair pulling and name calling. Putin took Crimea when Obama was POTUS, was quiet under Trump, invaded Ukraine under Biden. I think he does respect strength and didn't push his luck with Trump. World needs a strong America and right now it couldn't be weaker.

    [Travel] Orlando advice

Sanibel is all but done for a few years. Only bridge in was damaged and roadway destroyed. I'm sure the hotels and restaurants suffered badly. Ian cam ashore on top of Sanibel with 130mph winds and 8ft of water.

    [Travel] Orlando advice

I'm sat in Winter Park FL just outside Orlando and the flooding on the west side was pretty bad. 2/3 without power right now but they'll have everything good to go by tomorrow as Disney and Universal plan to re-open and they run the show. Hoping to head back to Sarasota tomorrow if my power...

[News] Did you ever meet / see the Queen?

I was 11 and climbed up a gate in The Lanes in 1977 as she toured Brighton as part of the Silver Jubilee. She was with Phil and an entourage.

[Music] Who was the first band you saw live.?

Was there. Came thru backstage with my new girlfriend who was mighty impressed. As described above The Promise opened for them on their World Tour, so the one and only time I didn't pay for a gig.

[Music] Who was the first band you saw live.?

Great pic. I remember them winning the local Battle of the Bands in Seaford. That was perhaps the apex of their journey. My brother joined The Promise and they got a recording contract in LA. Went on the 1985/6 World Tour opening for FGTH. When HJ left, they asked my brother to be lead...
