Let nobody tell you the monarchy should be abolished. Today it proved again how valuable it is when we need to impress the Americans.

But wait. I can see a dilemma. Do we impress Trump with the top menu for dignitaries, or do we cut back to show how skint we are, and can't afford any more money for defence?
Take him to a basketball game and spend an hour shouting "defence!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 defence!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Best not do that on his journey to the Palace.
Zelenskiy has swallowed a lot of pride to keep him onside to get this far. Let's see how this evolves 👍.
He’ll get a shit load of abuse. Which is fine by me.

Well played Starmer, think the arse licking is needed in these trying times and he's got Trump right on side, which is EXACTLY what Europe wants and we need. The trade deal and the Chagos agreement are the icing on the cake and it shuts that wanker, Farage up.

All in all, pleased with how the PM went about that. If he can get Trump onside for the backstop, then I can relax.

Yes, he seems to be lying, one way or the other. He either said it, or he didn't.
Perhaps we'll get a new version later.
“He doesn’t write his own letters, Zelenskyy. Doesn’t write ‘em. You know, it’s a terrible, terrible thing. I never dictate letters. I have the most beautiful handwriting of any President in the history of our great country. Sleepy Joe, he was a dictator, could barely sign his own name, he was so terrible.“

It's heartening to know that NSC can now play a pivotal role in saving Ukraine from being abandoned by the ego driven orange buffoon.

When his cortege drives by during his state visit, as he proffers a royal wave at the adoring, cheering crowds lined along the route, their number will be bolstered by at least four NSC members who will be there playing that important role with genuine, heartfelt conviction.

The rest of us will just have to swallow our pride and discard all dignity and self respect, and as we stand there waving and cheering in feigned adoration, remember we are doing it for the survival of Ukraine!..... Or before it need come to that we still have time to reflect... perhaps Putin isn't such a bad fellow after all.

Who do you think they are?

Surely I don't need to mention any names as they all know who they are, and so does the rest of NSC who regularly read (or ignore) their posts.

Of course there may be more than four but the ones who sprang to mind are the most prominent and regularly vocal in declaring their undying devotion and admiration for the Orange One and are no doubt now salivating and tumescent at the prospect of his visit.

Of course you are correct, if only we had tried this approach with Herr Hitler ?
This is the equivalent of the UK trying to keep the US interested in 1940-41 through giving them snippets of things we have in scientific research (cavity magnetron and the like) so that even if they remained hands off they were at least helping “the good guys”.

Putin is Hitler. We're trying to get Trump onside to help fight Hitler.

 Keep up
If he follows through on his words he's pretty much a ginger Hitler. He only wants Canada, Greenland, Gaza and Panama at the moment but if appeased he might fancy Mexico next.

His behaviour is abhorrent, we should cut him loose, not reward lies, arrogance and threats.

But he's not going to invade Canada with an army.

He shouldn't be appeased with any of those places, but buying him dinner for supporting Ukraine etc is a good deal.

Four will be enough thankyou.

It's makes interesting reading on these pages, of who are most salivating and tumescent towards the visit.
