Bleak pessimists view;

Russia won’t cause any issues whilst there’s American contractors in Ukraine mining, but the moment the well runs dry and the Americans leave, it’s open season again in 4 years time after Russia’s economy and military has recovered.
They might have those microwave weapons they’ve tried in the past near to hand though

I think it would be a bad idea for Ukraine to agree to a ceasefire, unless they get into NATO or similar. A ceasefire would just allow Russia to arm and prepare to go again. Any infrastructure rebuilding Ukraine attempted, would just be flattened again when Russia are ready.

I agree but think the mining is going to take a lot longer than 4 years and by then Putin may no longer be around.

On what terms Ukraine settle, I agree.

But we do have a vested interest in seeing Putin fall..the man who used Polonium 210 in London and then Novichok in Salisbury.

He threatens Baltics, he's constantly undermining our democracies and funding every party that seeks to destroy western societies.

He's a menace and the world will be a much better place once he's burning in hell

Well, I have heard a song that says that you are the Lord. ;)

This is from a former CIA analyst re: 'Krasnov'
“Whether or not Trump was recruited in 1987 may ultimately be less important than the fact that today, he is aligned with Putin’s interests. Whatever the origins of that alignment, its current reality is undeniable”

I think that it has become fairly obvious in the last few weeks, the the Orange man shares many of Putin’s interests.
Trump is a transactional human - the deal is everything - be it with Russia, North Korea anyone, and he has a soft spot for Russia - the “deals” that he has done with them in the past must have been good ones.

And so here we are - our major ally and backer has gone for good - or at least until the Orange one is removed from office.

The heads of the KGB will be drinking the best champagne these last few days

Well this is an interesting few words?

Without providing details, the few lines underneath the minerals deal headline that Ukraine will be allowed to fight on?

It's the words of a control freak. So no promise of more weapons??? Russia also get the right to fight on. It's just weird... I'll wait for an American adult like Snyder to translate Trump-speak🤷🏼‍♂️
