Valid points there but, once again, people are taking Trump's ridiculous claims as genuine and actually analysing and evaluating them !

He's unhinged and uncontrollable and there's no one backstage to tell him to stop running his mouth off.

No need to take this apart for all the reasons we all know, a simple " No Chance " from the international community is all that's needed.
When a leader is no longer responding to diplomatic pressure, the international community has two options; war, or look the other way.

See Germany, circa 1938-9

The only way this stops is if the GOP finally find their courage to stand up to him. That he's crossed a bridge too far. That's not looking remotely likely so far. He's crossed a lot of bridges already. And left most of them burning.

Our best hope might be that nature finally does what it tends to do to elderly men.

President U Turn backtracking again.

Just waiting for the deranged Trump fans to suggest he never meant it anyway and it was all about leverage for a hypothetical deal that really wasn't one because it's 6D chess in war against the deep state and artifical sweeteners and I can't be bothered.

Keep it simple Donald, remember your base.

Let me rephrase the question.

What do you think of his foreign policy, or border policy?
You're like a child. You were asked a simple question. As you have been on numerous occassions. And every single time you come back with this kind of pathetic response.

Do I have to explain to you our foreign policy or border policy when Biden was ”President “? Go ahead and give me your take. No need to be insulting.

It's the playground, Bart Simpson equivalent of "I know you are, but what am I?" type response, isn't it...

At least they didn't say "do your research"...!

Your other standard response. Infantile. I can't be arsed to give you the time or patience other posters admirably do. I can only assume your attitudes align with Trump otherwise you'd answer the straight forward questions put to you like any other grown up would.

To be fair, we are asking him to come up with a cohesive and intelligent defense of what is going on currently. ignoring questions and deflecting with daft questions about the democrats is really all he has.

The responses are telling us loud and clear all we need to know.

You cant defend the indefensible.

Looking forward to hearing the nuanced explanation of the border. I hope it is better than when the MAGA crowd were tweeting stuff like “2.2 million people stopped at the border” talking about record numbers. To me this always suggested border control doing its job.

The reverse of this would be 2.2 million getting across the border.

go on then. I’m all ears.

From what I can gather it wasn’t all that dissimilar to BumbleCunts, mainly because the orange one said he do lots of things, clever things, things that people* would think are clever things, when in reality he did bugger all.

* terminally f***ing stupid. Admit it you go ’ooohhhh shiney’ every time the sun comes up in the morning?

The White House is now rowing back on Trumps insane ramblings on Gaza with ‘clarifications’.

1. Palestinians will only leave on a temporary basis.

Meanwhile, some political commentators have pointed out that Trump’s motivation could be his desire for a Nobel Peace prize.

There is more chance of Covid being cured by injecting bleach into a patient than USA taking over Gaza.

It is not Trump that one needs to analyse but the ME and the need to evaluate the impact his words will have on Palestinians who have been subject to a totally devastating and existential military bombardment of their homeland for 18 months by the US backed IDF. Any suggestion that Palestinians should leave Gaza, even temporarily will be met by Gazans and those supporting them, with suspicion that this is some kind of final step in ethnic cleansing.

The fact he is saying these things at all is itself destabilising to relations in the ME, which was my point above. Palestinians living in Gaza are already sensitised to the idea that the US are backing Israel militarily to commit genocide against them. Trump’s words on Gaza also sends a signal to the far right in Israel who will feel emboldened that the Trump/US is sympathetic to their expansionist views, if only in its rhetoric. That makes engaging with the Arab world and Palestinians with any peace process very difficult.

Jeremy Bowen making the same points this morning
