Massive overestimates of the amount of tickets actually sold to Albion fans...

Guessing, but...

Ground capacity minus (the Chelsea allocation + segregation areas + 1901 seats + most of WSU and ESU + unsold seats on sale) = no more than around 10,000 and probably less = pathetic shambles of ticket selling by the professionals.... but it's OK as they are comfortable with all decisions about marketing and pricing...

I can't see how it's a "shambles", as mentioned by many on here the late Saturday night kick off with a potential 11pm finish with limited public transport options at that time, plus the fact it's on TV, means that it's unlikely that they would've shifted many more home tickets even at a far cheaper price.

More tickets might have been shifted if 50 loyalty points were being offered rather than a paltry 5.

The club cannot spoon feed fans information.
Yes they can. It’s basic marketing.

Just announce it in an email to the fanbase. It’s not hard. It’s not expensive. It’s not complicated. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of fans saying they won’t attend because the train service is so shite. The club needs to reassure them, and let them know that an enhanced service is being provided.

The average NSCer (STH, 54.2 years old, £73,650 household annual income, not necessarily local...) might not be keen but that is precisely why the club needed to market the game more effectively. Set ticket prices as low as possible. Fill the ground with local under 40s who can't normally go to matches.... win/win... fill the ground and build fanbase

P.s. and use the Loyalty Points lever... I understand it is a largely false belief but most people like the idea of getting 15pts and making some progress with their tally, knowing some other people are talking about choosing not to attend....

All of that is irrelevant. Just make it £15 a ticket and it would have sold out. IMO the club got greedy, this is the result.

A) it wouldn't necessarily sell out as there are plenty of non ££ reasons for people not going - aired over and over on this thread. b) you'd just get £10 less revenue from the hardcore thousands who are prepared to stump up £25 - me included and all that Chelsea lot . c) charging Kids £15 for Brighton Chelsea on a Saturday night is hardly "greedy". its pretty fair competitive pricing - certainly compared to Premier League pricing or other clubs ..

By the way Tickets for Friday the 14th for Albion Chelsea in the PL start at £47!! , or £65 for the equivalent of my seat in the ESU (gulp) and that's on 8pm as well on a Friday night. And that has sold out ! (or will do tomorrow - there's about 30 or so left) . Fancy that ?

They do send emails every single game about it, people ignore them. I expect regardless of the train service these people still won’t attend because we could put on as many trains as we wanted with the 8pm Kick Off time and people still wanted to go because for outside of Brighton, its incredibly difficult to get anywhere. Saturdays have always been fine on the train, not sure why people think this will be any difference.

I'm going, but the club should have made it £15.
£15 for an FA Cup 4th round tie between two top ten Premier League teams would be ridiculous. It’s the price of two pints in some places! It costs £12 to get into Haywards Heath Town. I don’t believe the pricing is the issue at all.

Appreciate that not all Chelsea fans will be travelling from London, and that not all of our fans are local, but the 6000 Chelsea fans don’t seem to be worried about getting home afterwards, then why are so many BHAFC fans saying the opposite and staying away?

The ticket price had to be £25 really if it was going to include the travel component (which it needed to do due to the late kick off time).
