I'm watching the updates on Sky News. It's the most traumatic and horrifying I've heard in a very long time ... maybe forever. Impossible to imagine what the parents, families and friends of those involved must be going through. Sarah-Jane Mee is understandably struggling herself reading out the impact statements.

I'm sure the tariff handed down will be a very big number ... but whatever that number is, it won't be enough. And as for his behaviour in court today ...

Tried reading the statements but finding it too difficult TBH.

Just far enough away from LDC
What purpose exactly does is serve to keep that **** alive?
None whatsoever. however we live in a civilised society and stooping to his standards doesn't send out the right messages or drive the right behaviour. It's a painful situation especially for the survivors and the victims' families

I think we all agree this piece of shit would be better served dead. But I am vehemently anti-death penalty because just one innocently executed person is one too many. And there have been hundreds, or thousands, when the death penalty was imposed.

But yes, in this specific case with the nature of this offence, it’s entirely understandable to want him dead.

I won’t be shedding a tear if he gets his in prison - which is a real possibility.

Agree but he’ll probably be safer in prison (where he’ll be in solitary) than if/when he gets out.

Absolutely, there are crimes where there is absolutely no question of guilt, this being one, Lee Rigby killers, Fred West etc. and IMO they forfeit their right to life and it serves no purpose whatsoever to keep them alive. Listening to the judge now is very upsetting.

Armed police taking him out would have also been an acceptable outcome to this scumbag

"The defendant was 17 at the time of the offences, nine days short of his birthday.

The judge clarifies that had he been 18, he would have been compelled to pass a sentence of life imprisonment without a minimum term.

The law does not permit that for under 18s however."

I sense a problem coming up...

Minimum 52 years. He’ll never get out regardless of what the minimum tariff is.

Judge has done a pretty good job of sentencing him to just about the maximum he could, and made it clear he wasn’t expecting him to be released.

Minimum term of 52 years, is this judge on f***ing crack? Should be 152 years. There should be absolutely zero chance of this **** getting out, ever. He would only be 70. Those families need to know 100% that he's never leaving prison. This sentance doesn't deliver that.
