Imo, and not apologising for it.

People here get more and more Manchester United with every year. Maybe because people think they're too good to remind themselves about history and where they came from rather than just endlessly bragging about it and literally gatekeeping it from new fans who all get treated like shit if they dare popping up here or elsewhere. I say literally because we just had two threads were some people went berzerk over the club wanting people to actually go to the games rather than sitting at home waving around their ST like some sort of identity-willie.

We'll see what the future brings. Maybe the new generation of fans that didn't grow up in post-war economical growth have a bigger sense of financial responsibility and won't label the owner as an umambitious cheapskate for not bringing in (immediate) like-for-like replacements for Ali Mac and Caicedo or signing "two top class wingers if March or Mitoma gets injured", like was the melody the entire last season.

People say they love the club and at the same time that they "don't care about finances". Tell me they don't need a history lesson...

I haven't heard any say they want a title before they die. Maybe a few of our fans have expressed a similar opinion. I also don't believe for a second anyone has requested we risk the future of the club to get said title.

I challenge you to find the people you are speaking about and share the posts that have led you to this conclusion. My guess is that you have misunderstood their opinions, the only other explanation is that you are using the worst straw man argument I have seen on here.

As I mentioned a week or so ago you have a good football knowledge. However your understanding of our (your chosen) club and English football in general is embarassing to say the least.

Anyway as I say put up or shut up with the shit you have posted here. It could not be further from the way all but a tiny minority* of Brighton fans think.

I will be amazed if you can find one.

I've not read all eight pages, so I'm not sure where all the preceding vitriol has come from. However, on this post, I am very much with you. It always confounds me that so many of our supporters seem prepared to gamble with the club's future, particularly given our very difficult past. As much as I'd love to see us win something, I still want to see the club run soundly above all else, so that it remains there for future generations as it was for mine. If the alternative is seeking funding from opaque or unethical sources, then count me out. We are supremely fortunate to have a genuine supporter with means, vision and ambition at the helm.

This. Sadly many of these people are no longer with us. Y'know, the ones who did endless thankless litter patrols, the ones who sat through endless insanely tedious public inquiry meetings so they could report back/keep people's spirits up, the ones who pushed endless leaflets through endless letter boxes. The list is, er, endless. Just ordinary people doing extraordinary things to secure the future of their club for future generations to enjoy. I generally like the cut of @Han Solo's jib on here, but not on this occasion sadly

I’ve started ignoring the bigoted Swede since he decided to inundate me with insult laden personal chats… all because he took exception to my assertion that he’s got a man crush on certain x Albion employees… so sadly I’ve missed all the fun, but I can guarantee the longer Potter flails at West Ham the more ridiculous he’ll get… the more angry his misguided and ill informed missives will become, the more insults he’ll throw at longtime, dedicated fans…

As others have said he’s just a pillock, with a tenuous association to our club … a grown man, lounging about in ill fitting clothes, smoking weed whilst desperately wanting to look enigmatic, waffling on about stuff in a sixth form display of trying way too hard to be cool.

As for Potter, he’ll perform averagely, which won’t be good enough for WH (based on nearly every other recent coach they’ve had) and he’ll be looking for another club inside a full season… poor Graham.

I can't recall anyone ever saying that they want us to win a title or more importantly, want us to buy our way to the title! Of course, we would love to win a title (do a Leicester) which was generally a 1 off but in reality it's highly unlikely. I do recall (me included) saying things like "why not go for the title" when, on a winning run or we've beaten a few top clubs and our early league position has looked promising. Under Roberto when we played brilliantly, and the occasional thread of "how far can we go" to which, I've commented along the lines of " knowing Roberto, he'll want us challenging for the title not, just top 4". But don't recall anyone saying we should go flat out, spend huge money to go for the title.

I agree with HS's take on safeguarding the club's future. That's all I was saying.

As to whether or not he's being fair to the previous posters, I'm not in a position to say. You say he isn't. I'm not going to argue with you on that point because I've better things to do with my time than read the binfest that got us here. I'm on a coffee break at work for a start. :lol:

Spot on. There will always be a few moans about spending more dosh on shiny new players, its what (excitable) fans do, but its a huge reach to conflate that with criticism of TB.
