Yes and no.

Below is our BENCH. It includes four players with Europa League experience, a Polish international and a £40 million signing.

However, we’re missing the versatile Hinshlewood, the experienced Welbeck, the incredibly experienced Milner and the improving Wieffer.

They had eight players out including their best CB, played a winger at left back and lost Mee and their keeper in game.

We also have Kadioglu, Webster and Ferguson out injured taking our current total up to 7. Then there's the fact quite a few of the players are recently back from injury so aren't at full sharpness/can't play 90 minutes yet.

You can't just say they're injury plagued but we're not when we have the most games missed through injury this season.

It being a crap shot doesn't make it a bad chance.

Enciso hit the post, we had some good heading opportunities in the first half.

Ayari should have scored from about 12 yards in the second half as well as Veltman and March doing better with their opportunities.
An XG of 1.29 from 24 suggests we didn’t create that many good chances.

I think it’s preferable not to talk reactionary shite though, isn’t it?

I’ve seen posters saying practically outright, and earnestly, “I hope we win because I’m going to overreact if we don’t”.

Surely if a poster knows they’re going to make a prat out of themselves, and damage their reputation and credibility, then just - I don’t know - don’t come on NSC after a bad result.

The vast majority of posters here are adults, people who share our pavements and roads and society, and they’re saying they are physically unable to stop themselves going on the internet and acting ridiculous, even though they knew they’d do it in advance

It is remarkable behaviour
This is a forum! Opinions differ, it's a free space! You may not agree with some views but football is about emotions! If you don't like someones opinion, just move on!

i don't think your utopian world of everybody thinks everything is great exists.

Without the opinions and posts after games which have to be 'reactionary' to the game than no point to NSC!

I didn’t - Justice did.

I edited my post to include Ferdie at around the same time you replied. It’s a fair enough point. Webster is probably 4th choice CB and Ferguson has been awful since his glandular fever. They had no left back and, by the end, two first choice centre backs out and a sub keeper. You can’t possibly think scoring 0 against that is good enough, can you?

Brentford used one corner routine obviously from the training ground and should have scored. Let me know the last time we used a corner routine.

Our set pieces are clueless. This makes we wonder about all the rest of our attacking.

Our defending tonight was shambolic. How we escaped with one point was down to luck.

Seriously what coaching is being given to these players?

The wrong subs for a while now and why the multiple subs? We're worse after them.

We've nicked a few wins this season. Without them we would be around 16th and with our current form we'd be heading for trouble.

8 yards more like.

Fabz in for me. Can't believe entitled folk are suggesting otherwise is a good idea

It does. But xG is bollocks.

@Bozza sent me a stat at half time that Enciso had more individual shots in the first 39 mins than any other individual player had in a whole game, previously in the Premier League.

Only the post hit was close.

Hit enough shots and your xG will go up, even if each individual shot has a 90% chance of failure. Touches in opposition penalty area are probably a better stat.

The unmarked free header from 8 yards was a massive chance

We've also had two wins nicked from us in Wolves and Leicester. Both professional performances up to 85 mins. With those two wins we'd be fifth now. Tiny tiny margins. Width of a post v West Ham and again tonight. Could be another 4 points. Or we could have indeed lost 2 or 3 more games or had two red cards in last two games. Again, really small margins. Where we are is probably just about right.

FFS football doesn’t work on maybe or if only.
Wolves at home he took off all of the the three best performing Albion players in one hit probably one of the worst triple substitutions I’ve witnessed recently. It wasn’t nicked.

I think sometimes what might be considered a knee jerk reaction is a comment made in the hope that someone might shed a positive light that wasn`t obvious . I didn`t vote but i can guarantee i will moan like bat shit crazy after a poor result , not necessarily on here or to anyone (save my poor long suffering wife) but in general around the house - it is my way of venting frustration and i won`t be alone i`m sure. In short i don`t think a poll means jack to be honest , just a lot of frustration .

I'm incredibly pissed off tonight. It one thing to trust a process, but not sure what THE process is. No defined style, no identity and some weird selection/substitution decisions.

Also some rumours emerging about unsettled team dynamics.

Add poor squad balance to that mix and it's not great. We look like the rudderless Potter side sans gross from early 22.
Totally agree with this - our performances are becoming boring and predictable and we seem intent on trying to walk the ball into the net again when a shot is on. Bart is driving me absolutely mad slowing our play down every time when a quick counter attack is on if he releases the ball early to our fullbacks or wingers. This is all on the manager and I’m far from convinced he knows how to change things. I’m losing belief in FH.

The Astral Planes, man...
People are entitled to have a moan , that doesn`t make them entitled . I would suggest as above that the boos were frustration no more , this was the 6th game on a trot that we should have taken more from .

We had a very good start to the season with the team playing as they were under RDZ , FH admitted he did not want to make changes to the style straight away . If this is his change and style then it is a backwards step , if not then something important is missing .

This is where I'm at. At the start of the season the team still had the 'muscle memory' of De Zerbi football and carried on winning.
Since then, that has been coached out of them and we have been left with these dismal entrails of Potter football.
Hopefully this new uber-coach coming in in January can sort things out!

i think a bit of perspective is needed here. if you’d said to me, after city and bournemouth: “we will now go on a six game winless run, with a few very poor performances, do you think we should sack him after that?” the answer would’ve obviously been no.

i’m by no means convinced by him, and assuming the worst case scenario, the form stumble continues and we finish somewhere between 16th and 12th, i’m still happy to give him next summer and the start of next season, especially if we get a decent cup run. however, in that scenario, we’d have to look at this season as a missed opportunity with the level of talent the squad has and how bad the big clubs have been, and he’d have to fix up pretty quickly at the start of next season. that’s about as far ahead as i can think.

doesn’t mean i won’t call out the lack of identity, and how often we look rudderless out there, but that’s about where it’s at in terms of me meaningfully wanting/not wanting him sacked. in fact the discourse surrounding this is largely pointless as it’ll never happen this side of june. as much as i loved RDZ, if FH can get going it’ll be a much more stable affair that it was ever going to be with RDZ, which is what the club want at the end of the day. that alone is worth sticking it out imo. just no more silly stuff like wolves and leicester, please. there’s only so many times i can go through that and still have faith that he’s the man.

let’s say the out/in scale is ten foot wide, with five foot across being the fence and zero being ‘sack him live on air poyet-style’, i’ve taken probably one and a half, two steps away from ten feet (ten feet being ‘the best thing since sliced bread). ultimately he will know it’s a results business and he needs to back himself to find the solutions
