We draw through going to 3 at the back versus Leicester. Poor tactical change.
But that's what people said he should have done against Wolves?

Also I'm pretty sure Fabs instructions when going to a back 3 weren't "Okay Igor, I want you to never pass and simply to dribble through everyone."

The change wasn't the issue Vs Leicester, the individual mistakes were.

Just far enough away from LDC
I'm incredibly pissed off tonight. It one thing to trust a process, but not sure what THE process is. No defined style, no identity and some weird selection/substitution decisions.

Also some rumours emerging about unsettled team dynamics.

Add poor squad balance to that mix and it's not great. We look like the rudderless Potter side sans gross from early 22.

Whether people think he should be in or out doesn’t matter, he obviously isn’t going to get sacked yet.

As for the future, we are a club that does everything by the data. It showed Hughton was incredibly lucky to keep us up second season, that Potter despite results was very much getting us in the right direction and showed just how f***ing brilliant we were with RDZ first season when could have easily qualified for CL.

At the moment we are a lower mid table team in our underlying stats. I have no doubt Tony is tracking that and who knows whether he thinks we should be performing better with the summers recruitment. It’s very early days so is purely guesswork at the moment but purely from a subjective view I have absolutely no idea how we are being set up to play, seemingly the pattern of play is lots of one touch passes and ficks near the box and hope something comes off.

My hunch is that Fab maybe isn’t the one, but I really hope I’m wrong and we turn the corner soon.

No we should have sacked him when the NSC in/out polls were split 50/50 and we’d won one home game in a calendar year.
Says it all I guess, the way history repeats. Seems to be a lot of angst on here that we might not get top ten this season, and many are calling for Fab's head as a result. Of course we have achieved top ten precisely twice in our illustrious 123 year history. Once under Potter, and once with the team Potter put together and which he left in a very strong position. But you would have sacked the manager before that happened.

So, yeah, you make a fantastic argument for being patient and letting inexperienced people develop in their role.

The classic conundrum, current result 111 in 34 out, but what if the 34 actually know their football collectively more than the 111?

But FWIW even it was 10,000 voting out at this point in time TB and his oppo are never going to admit they’re wrong, and perhaps backing their man will pay dividends in the long run?

The club’s targets are a lot more ambitious than yours. Fact.

Whilst I’m not frothing at the mouth and shouting he should be sacked I’ve not been convinced since the start. Definite fence. Wouldn’t make sense to sack him now but also hope we don’t suddenly offer him a longer contract.

Our season so far…
  • 10th place, 26 points from 18 matches
  • 2 points behind Manchester City
  • 3 points behind fifth-place Newcastle United, likely a Champions League spot
  • 3 points ahead of Tottenham
  • 4 points ahead of Manchester United
We are having a bad spell, all teams have bad spells even Manchester City! Trust the manager. It will get better.
Absolutely this

We were fifth six games ago. So the chumps calling for his head - where were you then?

Just accept that this is a manager still learning his trade. Our points return has been mediocre in the last six games but to be fair we've been by far the better side in most of them. I think the last six games are an unfair representation of Fab as much as our fifth place was probably also a false position. I reckon we're probably going to end up being the eighth best team in the land.

No I distinctly remember loads of people saying we were actually shit, I remember the chants of "League One again ole ole"

Actually might have misheard that last bit.

Mixed emotions for me.

First half we were so creative, but I‘m not sure if it was structured that way or an injury hit Brentford couldn’t cope with the chaos of a pile of mavericks doing their own thing. Not FH’s fault that every shot was a fade, draw or embarrassing daisy-cutter. I felt sorry for FH, Potter endured similar profligacy for years.

Second half, that was a pile of sh1t, including by FH:
1. Subs too late. Pedro had a stinker, others were up tight, not ‘in the zone’.
2. What’s this fkn business of being the easiest team with Spurs to counter? Brentford have had a terrible season away from home, they were missing so many players, yet even they had tons of breaks. PL punchbags Stains did exactly the same second half at the Amex. We played CP into away form, they could’ve scored 6. We’re going to get a spanking from counter attack goals if this madness continues. Baleba and O’Riley are 75 yards from our goal.
3. The entire second half every forward was uptight, with shit decision making and shit execution. Minteh . Other than winning that corner and geeing up the NS, Ayari killed attacks leading to Brentford counters.

No they're not. FACT right back at ya!
Yes they are because they were given to someone I know by Paul Barber, something I cross checked with someone else on here who knows someone who got the same targets. While not putting a season by season on it we’re eyeing up a lot more Europe and even the Champions League, and not in a “five seasons time” way.

Anyone saying out is a f***ing melt. We've not played badly. Our finishing is dogshit and no manager is ever gonna change that unless we get a clinical striker who can stay healthy. We had Undav and got rid just as he was banging in the goals. Not Hurzelers fault.
Or, indeed, the club’s fault.

He was very unsettled for personal and family reasons and was desperate to return to Germany. Given we were over a barrel with his desire to leave, we ended up getting an excellent fee for him.

Only 24 shots today tbf, absolute snooze fest and entirely the managers fault we can't hit the target.
24 shots, how many troubled the keeper? Enciso had more shots in the first 39 minutes than any player has had in an entire PL game this season, and only 1 of them was half decent. Lots of weak headers from tight angles and crap shots from outside the box like Veltman’s and March’s. Don’t let stats fool you into thinking that was in any way a decent performance.
