She’s not a middle aged white man, so unlikely to be investigated.

To clarify, I do not condone any intimidating or sexualised behaviour in the workplace. I do have some issues with the criteria for this behaviour being investigated.

Imho leave the “white” bit out in this context.

Male perverts, in positions of power, come from across the races spectrum eg Bill Cosby.

I have always thought everything about him is abhorrent but I don't see what the reported criticisms of him lead to him losing his job.

The examples I have seen aren't great decorum but it's not exactly he 'forced me into x'. And whilst behaviour should be better and more professional than that, a joke or comment is ultimately subjective.

Willing to change mind on better evidence than he made some lesbian jokes, and talked about sex.

There is a difference between "losing your job" and "not having your contract renewed" when acting like a complete ****.

The second is easy for the employer, if it chooses to do so.

Presenters are generally not full time employees are usually contracted to the production company rather than the broadcaster.

Alan Green.

Allegedly 'difficult'.

Contract not renewed.

Missed greatly by me.

Problem is a number of them appear to be oblivious that they at work.

When we listen or watch them we are not at work and that's where the confusion sets in, in us.

Their behaviour towards colleagues off screen should not be judged as if they in our living rooms sharing the wine in the evening.

The reality is their performance was usually filmed in office hours months ago and their "victims" were just doing their 9-5 on far less money than people appreciate.

The industry needs to work much much harder in eliminating the separation of what they describe as "talent" and everyone else.

Rules off screen apply to everyone.

Yes.

The reported chat - and i will state that i have only seen the quotes that he has said inappropriate things - feels like he is basically making sex jokes as his patter and seems obsessed with it.

I don't like his comments, and think it is inappropriate, but in lieu of him bullying, displaying coercive behaviour - or much worse - I'm not sure there would be enough to sack him in law. This is media land though, so the press campaign is enough to finish him off. I hold no tears of him, however.

I will happily revise my opinion if people can point me to something I've missed.

There are many far worse horror stories in media not out there.

The new tranch of allegations in the newspaper cannot really be laughed off as "banter" now.
Some will try though because they’ve probably said similar things to colleagues.

No surprise that this is another drip, drip, drip scandal. The more the accusations come out, the more this affected will be empowered to speak out.

It’s also no surprise that a celebrity male in a powerful position whilst telling a young woman he has no pants on, is probably imagining getting close to her and might well initiate some unwanted exploratory physical contact.

The comments already reported would have constituted gross misconduct in any firm I’ve ever worked for - for which dismissal without payment or notice is the usual outcome.

I have witnessed so much worse that doesn't get the attention. And not just in media - the city is rife with it.

Aware that I sound like a Wallace apologist. I'm not.

I worked in the city for 30 years. Yes, much worse does happen (or at least did), doesn't make it right though. Also, the same coercion exists..... people in power getting away with it.
