You've made fantastic progress. After 20 days I’m down from 95.1kg to 92.3. I really hope I can get to 90kg by the end of the month, but I think it’s a big ask. If I’m there by mid-December then I’ll definitely be happy.
Me too - lost over 3 kg in the past 22 days so hit the thread target of 7lbs yesterday. After 20 days I’m down from 95.1kg to 92.3. I really hope I can get to 90kg by the end of the month, but I think it’s a big ask. If I’m there by mid-December then I’ll definitely be happy.
Thanks for the kind words! I have a long term target, which is definitely doable. If I’m reasonably good then I should be ok. You mentioned Scars and Stripes earlier, I may have asked this before, but was that lady Jackie something involved with that? When I co-wrote The Tommy Cook Report she would often write me nice letters! You've made fantastic progress.
That's over a rate of 2 pounds per week, which I'd consider quite aggressive, although the first bit of weight can fall off quicker.
It's more important that you make adaptions you can stick to in the long-term than hitting an arbitrary weight on an arbitrary date.
As I posted above, I have a few events over the next ten days that are likely to hinder my chances of losing seven pounds in the calendar month, but I think it is more important to enjoy these things when they occur, and I'm confident that my mindset is now right to carry on again afterwards.
So, don't beat yourself up if you're not quite where'd you may choose - you'll get there soon after if you carry on as you are.
That'll be down to all the exercise you get with one arm! After 20 days I’m down from 95.1kg to 92.3. I really hope I can get to 90kg by the end of the month, but I think it’s a big ask. If I’m there by mid-December then I’ll definitely be happy.
Jackie, who is lovely as you say, was Seaside Saga. Thanks for the kind words! I have a long term target, which is definitely doable. If I’m reasonably good then I should be ok. That's my big change too.Day 1: 86.5kg (13st 9lb)
Day 21: 83.9kg (13st 3lb)
Loss so far 2.6kg (6lb)
Still making good progress and have become accustomed to not snacking between meals.
An indicated 14st 2lbs today. Roughly. I think the cold's messing with the scales, so I'd take that number with a large pinch of salt (except I wouldn't, that would cock up the diet ).14st 3lbs, which is pleasantly surprising after have had some fairly non-diet friendly meals on Thursday and Saturday with the family.
Also, fans of measuring in lbs will note that it takes me below the 200lbs mark.
Oooh 5g, fancy.Ahead of my sister arriving this evening, when I dive head-first into the red wine pool from the high board, I weighed myself a day early.
I’m now six pounds down this month, so my previous confidence at getting to seven was probably well-placed.
I’ll see if I can get to seven still but, as I’ve said, there are some compromises I’m not prepared to make.
Echoing thanks for starting this and keeping it going as it has been, and is, a motivational force.

My mum's house doesn't have WiFi.Oooh 5g, fancy.
And I thought I was being extravagant buying a Ninja soup maker to help my diet...!Weighin this morning and have dropped 8.1lbs this month, and just over a stone from last month when one of my granddaughters called me fat. I remember weighing myself at the time and was shocked at both the absolute weight and BMI>30 so had started to try to cut down. Working 50-60 hour weeks has not helped as little effort put into exercise.
Main success areas have been chewing gum (I tend to chew for hours) to prevent snacking, and avoiding bread (I love Marmite) and sugar as much as possible. Commuting to Liverpool from Sussex and living in a hotel a few nights each week, with eating out in restaurants, is also a bad habit so I’ve bought myself an apartment there and once completed can learn how to use an air fryer.
I’ve shifted my desk at home to a stand up version and now have a treadmill under the desk so can increase steps whilst working too.
This thread has been a huge help, inclusive, supportive and educational, cheers chums.
