Just far enough away from LDC
Having been trough the war years even got banned personally by a mr Belotti, I’m waiting to watch this on a streaming service when I can sort in a dark room no one around me and watch it
I still get uptight seeing that bustard. I had opportunities to do real physical damage to him..including once trapping him in a revolving door. My skin crawls just seeing him. The film does a great job of showing him to be the evil lying **** he really was

Doesn't sound like my kind of wank material, but each to their own.

I was there too. There was more football than I was expecting, and less off field stuff. I thought it was going to be mainly about that side of things. I’m in the trailer and I persuaded my 10 year old to come and watch it with me on the basis that as I’m in the trailer I’ll be in it loads. The fuckers cut me from the main film.
I noticed something in the trailer that was released in the 2.5 years ago one, that wasn't in the end product. Is there an 'old' trailer & a 'finished' trailer?

I'm pretty sure it was called 'The Amax' on commentary for the Doncaster game...!
Whenever I hear that guy's commentary (don't know his name) all I can think of is him saying the Ay-max. I mean, what??

There's something about his weasely, smug little face that really makes my blood boil

When he appeared on screen, it was interesting to observe / hear a level of disgust and pure hatred in the room. I could clearly hear the c word uttered by a few people under their breath.

More so than when archer was on screen doing his captain pugwash impersonation

I still regret not “having words” with him when I saw him in Eastbourne M&S once, but because I was laden down with Christmas presents and with my sister at the time, it was a fleeting opportunity I didn’t take.

But still proud to this day of my ‘Jo Bellotti and the dandruff brush’ moment at the filming of that Meridian TV studio travesty. Couple of NSC regulars were there too, and might remember it. Incredibly childish, but incredibly satisfying.

Having seen it last November at the Duke of Yorks and now seen it at the Amex we found it hard to recount the differences. Does anybody know what they were?

Thoroughly enjoyed that. This old git had a tear in his eye...
It was brilliant. I too had something in my eye throughout most of the film.

It made me feel sad that I did not do more during the War Years. However, despite my own regret and guilt, the overwhelming emotion was gratitude to the foot soldiers (and leaders) that rose to the challenge and just never gave in. I am so glad that at last some of them have been acknowledged in this thread.

Right from the beginning and throughout it is superbly set, emotionally charged and a must see film for any Brighton fan.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but is parking available at the Amex?

I love our club, but we've totally sold out on everything we fought for in those years.

Back then, Fans Utd and saving the club were not just about ensuring the Albion's survival, they were about standing up and saying that this shouldn't happen to ANY club.

Personally, I think we had fire in our belly, and for every other fan we met - either at Fans Utd or as we went on the road - it was about looking them in the eye and saying, 'if we don't do something about this, then it could be you next.'

When we survived, I thought we might go on to build something different. To build a club prepared to stand up and say what it thought. To be a club that never ever turned a blind eye to bad owners, corruption in football, and unfair treatment of fans. To be a club that would happily campaign for the Scunthorpes and Bury FCs. But that didn't happen.

Instead, we ourselves turned a blind eye to one man taking over the club again. Why? Because he's a good egg and he's a life long fan. It's Barber's constant response the the question of why there isn't more fan representation on the board. He says, "why do we need it? We already have a fan owning the club."

Personally, I want to be the only club in the Premier League campaigning for a Football Regulator. Instead we're supporting the status quo in the name of business, because doesn't England want the most commercially successful league in the world? Well, I'll point out that it's countries without the Premier League that have won all the World Cups and European Championships.

So, this film, it's just a sticking plaster. A nice memory. It makes us feel good and stops us asking the difficult questions.

The response to the Shoreham Air Disaster was brilliant. It showed great human qualities. I don't doubt the that club has huge integrity and ethics. But what I'm talking about is something that goes deeper. Something that is about changing the fabric of the game for all the fans. Making sure that every club and every fan is supported. Making sure that the club really does put the community first rather than just do the Albion Foundation stuff because it's part of an ESG box tick.

What is our purpose as a club? Is it just to be successful? Or is it to be a club that stands up for fans? When I was trudging the streets giving our Falmer Yes leaflets, I guess I thought the latter.

Anyhow, as I say, I love my club. What I feel is just a matter for me, but I thought I'd share it anyhow.

Up The Albion!
Excellent post, one of the best I’ve read on here for quite a while

Interesting. Wouldn't call TNT a major "streaming" platform if that's what he said(?). Wouldn't it be Prime in that case?
Discovery is a major streaming platform which TNT is part of I think
